Located in south-west Sydney, with an enrolment of approximately 1150 students and 115 Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander students. We have two units dedicated to supporting students with additional learning needs and students from an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander background. These units provide in-class support, small group or one- on-one tutoring. CPAHS run the Quicksmart Program with both ATSI students and students with additional needs in Year 7-9. It focuses on students who have achieved at or below the National Minimum Standard in NAPLAN and aims to improve their skill and ability in performing mixed operations and problem solving. | ‘Summary Comments: ‘Mr Morgan has demonstrated a strong understanding of different student learning needs. He has adapted lesson activities, supported staff to engage and challenge students and differentiated for a range of student abilities including students with severe behavioural, wellbeing and learning needs. Mr Morgan has. ensured that relevant numeracy activities are implemented for students, including the use of Quicksmart, ensuring he is delivering activities specific to differing levels of student achievement/NAPLAN results. He has used a range of increasingly complex verbal and non-verbal communication strategies to support student engagement in lessons/Quicksmart. Mr Morgan has demonstrated strong professionalism throughout his placement and has been a fantastic addition to the Aboriginal Education & Learning Support faculties. His professionalism, respect and enthusiasm for the teaching profession has shined throughout his time in this placement. He has developed meaningful relationships with students in the short time he was with us and shows a passion for teaching students from an ATSI or learning support background. It is evident from his interactions that he has a genuine interest in developing students! individual skills and strengths.
