Theoretical Framework

The study dealt with the implications of Philippine National Police Academy academics and
tactics training to the cadets. This training is very important for the improvement of public safety
as the Academy produces officers of the Tri-Bureau of the Department of Interior and Local
Government.

With Carter, Sapp and Stephens (1989) theory as our theoretical basis in this study, the
conceptual framework shown on page PAGE NO. illustrates the connection of the three (3)
independent variables ass follows, the intellectual, emotional and physical aspects with a certain
goal that is to produce a good training program. The model shows that with the absence of one
(1) aspect you cannot produce a good and fruitful training. Like a fan, if there is a broken
propeller you cannot maintain the balance of the fan and it cannot produce air. If we compare it
to our police personnel today it only means that without proper training, we cannot produce a
good public safety officer.
The Carter, Sapp and Stephens model (1989) has three (3) independent variables that are
represented by the propellers of the fan. The first propeller is the intellectual aspect that discusses
the cognitive factors of our study. Second propeller is the emotional or affective factors and the
thirds and last propeller that discusses the physical aspects of our study. These three (3) factors
are needed in order to propel the rotor or the center part of the fan, which are trainings needed by
public safety officer in order to have a better delivery of services to the public. If one of these
propeller is missing the fan will not function effectively which is also like training, with our one
aspect you will not finish your training properly and efficiently.
The different aspects refer to the factors affecting trainings of a human being in relation
to performance in the areas of intellectual emotional and physical aspect. The intellectual aspect
covers the knowledge to be acquired by processes attached to the development program of the
specific training. The emotional aspect covers the control system of an individual, his ability to
maintain stability under pressure while undergoing stressful activities and physical stress. It also
deals with an individuals coping strategy to deal with different emotions such ass fear, anger and
stress. Lastly, the physical aspect as one of the major aspect of training, covers the skills,
external development of an individual that is majorly emphasized in training. Factors such as
endurance, strength, agility and mobility falls under the Physical aspect understood as the main
purpose why an individual train. The three (3) aspects of training are important variables that
affects one’s performance in the field.
Thus this study aims to give proper consideration of the holistic development of Cadets in
relation to the current training program and program of instruction of PNPA Cadets of Class
2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022.
Conceptual Framework
Figure one (1) showed the Conceptual framework of the study. There are three
(3) independent variables used, the Intellectual aspect, Emotional aspect, Emotional aspect and
Physical aspect.
The intellectual aspect covers the knowledge to be acquired by the person undergoing a
specific training including theories, formulas and processes attached to the development program
of the specific training. The emotional aspect covers the control system of an individual, his
ability to maintain stability pressure while undergoing stressful activities and physical stress. It
also deals with an individuals coping strategy to deal with different emotions such as fear, anger
and stress. Lastly, the physical aspect as one of the major aspect of training, covers the skills,
external development of an individual that is majorly emphasized in training. Factors such as
endurance, strength, agility and mobility falls under the Physical aspect understood as the main
purpose why an individual train.
Philippine National Police Academy needs these three (3) variables in order to be
successful in the training of future public safety officers. The absence of one of those variables,
the training would not be effective and efficient Officers especially when it comes to operational
procedure of the Tri-bureau namely the PNP, BFP and BJMP.

Military Studies
Military studies programs focus on understanding the nature of diplomacy and armed conflict. Completing
an academic program in this field can lead to a career in the military or as a civilian specialist in military
history or intelligence. Read on to find out if this field is right for you.

Inside Military Studies

Programs in military studies combine military history, diplomacy and humanistic studies to create effective
leaders and scholars in the armed forces. Many programs in military studies are presented in the context of
military service, such as Reserve Officers Training Corps. Civilian careers for those with degrees in military
studies include teaching and research in military strategy or history. Military officers may retire after 20
years of service and may have the opportunity to work in locations around the world.
Whether you'd like to become a military officer or a civilian employee in the field of military history or
intelligence, Study.com offers a variety of information resources to help you begin your journey.

Education Information
Military studies programs are offered at degree levels from a minor focus in a bachelor's program to a
master's degree. The curriculum for a degree or minor in military studies covers aspects of war and armed
conflict, including historic regional conflicts, diplomatic issues and military strategy. Programs aimed at
developing careers in the armed forces emphasize leadership.
Military history provides a contextual study, shifting in focus from chronology-based courses, such as the
Vietnam War, to historic themes, such as armored warfare. A broad curriculum also includes courses in the
humanities, such as philosophy, political science or sociology. Many undergraduate military studies
programs are designed for ROTC students, which include courses in history, land navigation and leadership,
to name a few.

What is Human Dynamics?

Human Dynamics is a body of knowledge that provides crucial
tools and practices needed for people to understand and value
each others unique capabilities, enhance working relationships,
grow professionally, and deliver results that involve everyone's
contribution.
During the initial research of Human Dynamics a significant
discovery was made about people. We found the existence of
three different energy systems in people and began to study and
document these findings in films. It became clear to us that
these energy systems were innate and form the foundation of
how we function in the world. We call these energy systems,
the three universal principles. These three principles are – the
mental principle (objective), the emotional principle (relational),
and the physical principle (operational). The mental principle in
all of us is related to our ability to focus, think logically, create
structure, maintain objectivity and hold a long-range
perspective. The emotional principle in all of us is related to our
ability to build relationships, communicate with others, express
our feelings, make connections and engage in creative
endeavors. The physical principle in all of us is related to our
ability to gather information in a practical way and manifest
something concrete in the physical world.
Although the mental, emotional, and physical principles are
active in a dynamic interplay in everyone, we are “organized” in
such a way that one of these three principles predominates as
our primary principle, or center. Some people are “mentally
centered,” with a primary center that is mental (objective), some
people are “emotionally centered,” with a primary center that is
emotional (relational), and some people are “physically
centered,” with a primary center that is physical (operational).
These three ways of being centered have distinctly different
inner experiences and ways of functioning in the
world. Mentally centered people are by nature detached and
objective, and they think and plan in a linear, logical, sequential
way. Emotionally centered people are naturally connective with
others, and they think and plan in a non-linear, more
spontaneous way, in part guided by their feelings, their
intuitions and their interactions with others. Physically centered
people are naturally grounded and practical. They think and
plan in a systemic way by gathering large amounts of
information which they connect together as they plan and
create.

Over the past 35 years, Human Dynamics has conducted

extensive worldwide research with many thousands of people,
who have experienced Human Dynamics in the form of
seminars and training programs. As a result of this extensive
research, five predominate human systems, referred to
as personality dynamics were identified. Each personality dynamic
differs greatly from those of another personality dynamic in how
they process information, learn best, prefer to communicate and
relate with others, perform on teams, solve problems, remember
events, respond to stress and stay healthy.
Remarkably, the different personality dynamics appear to be so
foundational in the human makeup, that they exist the world
over, independent of culture, race, gender or age. An
individual’s personality dynamic can be identified in childhood,
even in infants as young as 6 months of age.
The five most prevalent personality dynamics are: the mental-
physical personality dynamic, two variations on emotional
centering (emotional-mental and emotional-physical), and two
variations on physical centering (physical-mental and physical-
emotional). Since these five personality dynamics constitute
99% of humanity, these are ones we focus on in our various
Human Dynamics® training programs.
It is important to note that all of the personality dynamics are of
equal value. It is not “better” to be one rather than another. It is
how the different systems function that is different. These
discoveries are of the utmost significance for understanding the
requirements for health and well-being of everyone.
We invite you to learn about our programs and discover the
leading practices that are at the heart of Human Dynamics. The
invaluable information and knowledge that can be gleaned will
transform your organization into a true learning environment of
success.
