Typical Day
● Arrival/Table Toys: Children are responsible for their morning
routine; hang up backpacks and jackets, put their folders in the bin,
and complete table tasks (fine motor).

● Circle/ Large group: Large group instruction based on our unit of


study or other various curriculums

● Free exploration/ Centers : Children freely choose to go to and from


a variety of play based activities which include: Speech, Math,
Snack, Art, Games, Literacy, Dramatic Play, Discovery, Computers,
Writing, and Blocks.

● Small groups: Concept development and differentiation of various


pre-readiness skill (math, literacy, science, etc.).

● Story: Story and activity

● Gross Motor: Outdoor classroom, nature walks, playground, indoor


gross motor games.

JOLLY PHONICS:

Teaching Strategies Gold:


Creative Curriculum assessment tool. Children are
assessed on 9 developmental domains each trimester to
show areas of growth and areas of need.
(Social-emotional, physical, language, cognitive, literacy,
math, social studies, science, and art). A parent link will be
emailed to you to see your child’s pictures.
-Brooke Folkrod, the speech pathologist, pushes into the classroom 5 days a
week to provide therapy services in small groups, one on one
intervention, and large group instruction. She provides services to
children with delays in the areas of receptive, expressive and pragmatic
language skills and speech-sound skills.

Celebrations
● Holiday Parties at Green Bay are limited to Valentine’s Day and
Halloween. Everyone is welcome!

● Room Parents will coordinate the parties. One sweet treat is


allowed, however, it must be nut-free. If your child has an allergy
and you wish to provide their sweet treat from home you may.

Birthdays:
-To celebrate birthdays, a parent or guest may come into class and share
your child’s favorite book with their classmates. They may share a
healthy snack (fruit or vegetable only) or donate a book to the school
library in honor of your child’s birthday. Your child will also get to
wear a special birthday crown and choose the stamp that day!
