Senior Exhibition Overview & Due Dates

Quarter 1: Personal & Persuasive Writing


1. Digital Portfolio Website
2. Resume
a. You will craft a professional resume for future prospective employers and
publish it in your Digital Portfolio.
3. Cover Letter
a. You will write a professional letter that typically accompanies all professional
resumes. This letter should correspond with the your job shadow or volunteer
choice (i.e. the letter should be addressed to the person you want to shadow).
You will publish cover letter to your Digital Portfolio.
Quarter 2: Research, Persuasive Writing, & Persuasive Oral Presentation
1. Social Change Ad Campaign (Not officially part of the Project but can be used)
a. You will identify and research the characteristics of a social issue that has
meaning to you. You will create an ad campaign that either raised funds for,
spreads awareness of, or demands change for this social issue. You will pitch
your campaign in a persuasive presentation.
2. Grizzly Pride Proposal
a. You will design, create, organize, and complete a lasting service project which
will better this high school environment for years to come. Students may opt to
do a service project for social change.
b. You will fill in and submit the proposal worksheet and signature page. Then you
will publish it in your Digital Portfolio.
c. You will use the worksheet to write a proposal essay about your idea and publish
it in your Digital Portfolio.

Quarter 3: Expository Writing & Expository Oral Presentation


1. Job Shadow/Volunteer Experience Reflection
a. If you choose job shadow (preferred):
i. You will spend between 4-6 hours off campus observing a professional in
your chosen career field. You should observe and take notes and
photographs (if permitted) of your experience.
ii. You will complete the job shadow in one day.
iii. You will write an expository/reflective essay.
iv. You will obtain proof of participation.
v. You will upload all information to your Digital Profile.
b. If you choose volunteer experience:
i. You will provide 4-6 hours of service to a well-established organization
that is directly related to your career choice. The chosen work must enable
you to learn more about the particular industry and your chosen field of
work. You should take notes and photographs (if permitted) of your
experience.
ii. You will complete the hours of volunteer work.
iii. You will complete an expository/reflective essay.
iv. You will obtain proof of participation and upload everything to your
Digital Profile.
2. Career Research Paper
a. You will do extensive research on a career of your choosing. You will create an
MLA format career research paper. Ideally, the career should correspond with
your job shadow or volunteer experience. You will publish the paper in your
Digital Portfolio.

3. Senior Exhibition Presentation


a. You will create and present an 8 -10 minute media-based presentation via
PowerPoint, Prezi, Film etc. that introduces yourself, showcases and documents
your Grizzly Pride, career exploration, job shadow or volunteer experience (with
photographs if available), and future plans.
b. You will dress professionally and present to the teacher, the class, and a panel of
invited guests.
c. You will be assigned a specific date and time for presentation.
