DEMONSTRATION OF SCANNER OMR/IMAGE MODEL INSIGHT 700c SCANNER WITH

REJECTION OUTPUT CAPABILITY

This has reference to the demonstration made by us during our visit to KPSC in December 5, 6 & 7, 2017.

We are thankful to the Hon’ble Chairman KPSC, yourself and other Members of KPSC for attending the
demonstration.

During the demonstration, we have shown the INSIGHT 700c Scanner with rejection output capability
(Flex Stacker). All features of the Scanner as well as comparison between OPSCAN 8 were discussed in
the presence of the Hon’ble Chairman.

The basic difference between the OPSCAN 8 and the INSIGHT 700c is the higher speed of scanning in
case of INSIGHT 700c as compared to OPSCAN 8 and the most important feature being the capability to
capture colour or greyscale images (full page) of the OMR sheet while scanning along with OMR data
capture. This feature was aptly demonstrated to the officials present during demonstration.

During the course of discussions, the Hon’ble Chairman asked us for certain additional requirements to
fulfil the requirements of KPSC.

1) Storage of the key responses and avoiding re scan of key sheets.

2) Printing of data through Transport Printer during scan 1 and scan 2 and visibility of the printed data
on the OMR sheet in the colour image.
3) Electronic stitching of the images of left side and right side of the OMR sheet so as to make
complete full sheet for archival and retrieval purpose.

We wish to bring to your attention that we have developed the requisite software as well as done very very
extensive testing of the desired improvements in ScanTools Prisma the software i.e. supplied along with
the INSIGHTN 700c OMR/Image Scanners.
 :: 2 ::

1) We are now able to scan the key sheets one time and store the key response data that can be recalled
as and when required after the scanning processing has been restarted after a break.

This process eliminates the re scanning of the key sheets again and again and thereby saving time.

2) The data image (Scan No., Barcode, Set, Score) for scan 1 is being electronically printed on the
OMR sheet during the first scan and is represented in red colour.

3) During the 2nd scan of the answer portion, the image of the Transport Printer printing on the sheet
as well as the electronically pasted first scan information are both displayed.

This feature was desired by the Hon’ble Chairman during the presentation.

The Registration part is scanned once and OMR and Image are captured along with the Transport printing
information.

The images of the left side and right side i.e.. answer part and registration part are electronically stitched
based on the left side and right side barcodes. The full page image of the complete sheet with the image
indicating the scan1 and scan 2 printed information on the side of the sheet is stitched.

These were the requirements over and above the standard capabilities of the Scanner, that was desired by
the Hon’ble Commission. I have forwarded the scanned images of the sample sheet with the desired
information printing on the side.
