VOLUNTEER EXPERIENCE

• Volunteer at Montgomery Street School: From October 2017- March 2018 I

volunteered for a grade two class twice a week. I worked with children to strengthen their
literacy skills. I learned many strategies that help children with their reading including
strategies that target comprehension and fluency. I also worked on math strategies with
some of the children that helped them to become stronger in their math abilities.

• Mentor for The Promise Partnership at Hazen White St. Francis: The Promise
Partnership is a program organized by UNBSJ in which University students are
partnered with a child to help them with math or literacy. This is done by playing math
games, teaching them math strategies, helping them with their math homework, and
practicing reading.
