APPLICANT INFORMATION

The Programs for International Dentists at NYU College of Dentistry attracts oral health professionals
from over 91 countries. These full-time programs are designed for international dentists who plan to
practice dentistry outside the United States. Completion of any of these programs does not qualify
participants for licensure in the US.

Full-time hands on Advanced Programs for International Dentists:

Full-time teaching fellowship program:


 Teaching International Dental Educators Fellowship Program (T.I.D.E.) - (1 Year Program)

ADMISSIONS
1. Only complete applications can be reviewed by the Admissions Committee

2. Applications submitted after the January priority deadline will be reviewed based on
availability

3. After submission of a complete application, the applicant will be informed of their initial review
by the Admissions Committee, which may result in being invited to interview for a position in
the program

Pre-Requisite Clinical Experience:


Implant Dentistry Program:
At least 3 years of experience (or 1 year of Comprehensive Dentistry)

Esthetic Dentistry Program:


At least 2-3 years of experience

Oral Surgery/RCSI:
At least 2-3 years of experience and passing score in MFD Part I or NBDE Part I Exam

To Apply:
1. All candidates must have graduated from dental school outside the USA before starting the
international program.

2. Submit the online application by going to www.nyu.edu/dental/international and click Apply Now.
In addition, the following documents are required:
 Personal Statement Essay: Why you are applying to this program, include information on your
academic background, your career goals and your qualifications (1-2 pages)

 CV or Resume

 Letter(s) of recommendation from your Dean, professors, or supervisors

 Certified English translation of your dental school diploma

 Certified English translation of your dental school transcript (listing subjects studied and grades
received)

 “Course-by-Course Evaluation” by Educational Credential Evaluators (ECE). This evaluation


report provides the U.S. equivalent of each educational credential received. To start your

 Non-refundable application fee of US $100 (check or money order that must be drawn from a US

Admissions Decision

Application decision notifications are sent via email to all applicants, with instructions on logging into
the online application system to view the decision letter.

If accepted, the acceptance letter will have step-by-step instructions on submitting a tuition deposit to
hold your position in the program and to begin the I-20 application process (the first step of the F-1
student visa) through the NYU Office for Global Services (OGS) office.

Applicants who are not selected must wait one calendar year before re-applying to any international
program.

TUITION & COST OF LIVING

The tuition and fees (instrument rental, health insurance, etc.) for academic year 2015-2016 are:

Advanced Programs for International Dentists $83,889

The annual cost of living for all programs is approximately: $24,000

Please note:
 There is a 3-5% increase in tuition, fees and living expenses annually
 USA financial aid and scholarships are not available for these programs

ORIENTATION & PROGRAM START DATES

All incoming students and fellows are required to attend orientation, consisting of a welcoming
reception, presentations on clinical protocols and procedures, university life, student services,
information on other educational opportunities, OGS immigration workshops, and a number of social
activities.

The following program begins on September 6, 2016:


Teaching in Dental Education (T.I.D.E.) Fellowship

Your F-1 student visa allows you entry into the USA 30 days prior to the start of your program. We
recommend you arrive at least three weeks in advance of the program start date so that you are
able to find an apartment and complete the required pre-orientation check in workshops.
