Acknowledgement

First of all, I would like to thank my Daddy for giving me his laptop so that I

would be able to finish my research work. My Mama and Papa for their financial,

moral and spiritual support. To God Almighty who strengthens me each day,

giving me the knowledge and understanding that I am able to understand

everything in this research study. To my teacher, who never lacks in giving me

her utmost care and support, for making me understand every detail of this work

and for correcting me whenever I make mistakes. And lastly, to my friends who

encourage me to finish my work before going home. Thank you so much.

Dedication

I dedicate this research project to all the people who helped me finish it.

To my Mama, who helped me in any way she can in this research work.

To my Daddy, who gave me this laptop. I won’t finish my work without this.

To my beloved Teacher, who made me understand this project.

And to all the parents of underachievers who never fail to give up on their

children no matter how difficult it is for them.

Introduction

Students can be an achiever if they want to by helping himself or herself

to be one. They just have to study hard and focus on their goals.

Underachievement occurs mostly in middle school because students are

being distracted by some factors such as social media, video games, gadgets,

circle of friends and many more. They tend to become a night owls because of

these factors. That’s why being an achiever always depends on the person, and

his or her willingness to achieve what he or she really wants.

Conclusion

I conclude that every underachiever can be an achiever if they just work

hard for it. They just need to study better, participate in school activities, and not

be lazy to do their projects and assignments. Parents also need to help and

support their children in order for them to be achievers. They should provide a

well-rounded and healthy environment so that their children will be motivated to

learn, and transform from being underachievers to achievers. The school and

teachers should also do their part in this transformation of students. They should

organize school events that would inspire and encourage students to participate

and learn. Every underachiever can really be an achiever with the right amount

of self-determination and discipline, alongside with the support of the school,

friends, and most importantly, the parents.

About the Author

Hanna Luisse Añonuevo is a Grade 6

student of Arborvitae Plains

Montessori, Inc. (APMI). She was

studying here since she was in the third

grade. She was born in Bicol, grew up

in Manila, relocated and studied here in

Bacolod. She has three friends namely

Naomi, Nicole, and Alex. She is the

youngest in her class. Her favorite

subject is Arts simply because she likes painting, drawing, and creating stuff. She

likes the colors light blue, black and white. Her favorite food are corned beef and

French fries. She wants to become veterinarian or a business analyst someday

when she grows up. She has two cats, three ducks, three dogs, one bird, and a

few chickens at home. She wants to achieve in life to help her parents and to pay

them back for all their sacrifices. She really wants to achieve her dreams to help

her family because she really loves them. That’s why you have to be an achiever

to pay back to your parents too because they work hard to make money to pay for

your tuition so you should study hard.
