the sky’s the limit.

Our students tell us that one of their favorite things

about HNU is the view. We think it fits perfectly
with the sense of possibility here on campus.

Come to the school on the hill, and be reminded

every day of the limitless opportunities in front of you.
we LOVE OAKLAND.

Our picturesque Oakland Hills campus is ideally located in a 60-acre wooded

area with a priceless view of the San Francisco Bay. Immerse yourself in one of
the most desirable, diverse locations in the United States – cultural, intellectual,
and recreational activities abound in every direction. Nestled between San
Francisco, Berkeley, and Silicon Valley, HNU offers a safe and inviting campus
community with easy access to the numerous sports teams, restaurants,
museums, theaters, and miles of hiking trails just beyond campus.
You are invited to deepen your spiritual life
at Holy Names. Campus Ministry supports
students of all faiths with space for reflection,
special events, and community. Our chaplain
lives on campus and offers Mass twice a week
in HNU’s extraordinary McClean Chapel. We
embrace the special charism and core values of
the Sisters of Holy Names of Jesus and Mary,
which include:
• Full development of the human person
• Education in the faith
• Hospitality
• Dedication to women and children
• Dedication to justice

Founded in faith, committed • Service to people who are poor

or marginalized
to inclusion for all. • Commitment to liberating action
• Love for the names of Jesus and Mary

“I am really into promoting science with underrepresented

minorities, and low socio-economic status students.”
According to Gourdet, her HNU advisor was the reason
she finished college, obtained her master’s degree and
was accepted to a prestigious PhD program. “We are still
in touch, and she regularly checks up on me.”

you are at home at HNU.

Do you want to join a community that believes in you? A community that will be
there for you through the ups and downs of the college experience and beyond?
Our students tell us HNU feels like home. They know they are not a number here
and that they matter. This builds a sense of self that empowers our graduates to
become dynamic community leaders, care-givers, educators, and entrepreneurs.

At HNU, you can be as ambitious as you want.

The school allows you to try on any hat you want to,
and you take your experience as far as you want to go.
If you want to be challenged, the faculty and staff
here are willing to push you.”
