Accuracy can be expressed as absolute and relative error.

The difference between the


true value and the measured value is the absolute error. If the absolute error is expressed as
percentage of the true value it is the relative error of the analysis. The figure below shows
the equations for absolute and relative error. E= Absolute error

µ = true value
