CONGRATULATIONS!

We are very pleased to offer you the chance to join The Sea Pines Resort team as a Winter Work & Travel participant
our Food & Beverage Division for the 2018-2019 season. This is a valuable résumé-enhancing experience for all
students, and we are proud to offer this opportunity to you. The following information provides additional details
regarding your offer, including your role and program season.

1. Position and Duration:


You have been selected for the position of Winter Work & Travel participant. Your start date will be determined
by your home country’s release dates as well as your ability to obtain a J-1 visa. However, we anticipate your first day
to be on or about December 15, 2018 and for your final working date to be approximately on or about March 15,
2019.

2. Remuneration:
You will receive a base rate of pay with potential for tips depending upon your training position. The Server
Assistant/Food Runners base rate is $7.50 per hour plus tips and the Steward/Prep Cook base rate is $10.00/hour. In
this program, you will train an average of 32-40 hours per week. Any additional hours accumulated above 40 in one
week will be considered overtime. You will be responsible for paying U.S. Federal and State taxes, but will be exempt
from Social Security and Medicare taxes. (Suggest reviewing filing United States taxes as a J-1 student).

All team members receive their pay through direct deposit. Within the first week of your training, The Sea Pines
Resort will assist you in securing an account with a local U.S. bank.

3. Housing:
The Sea Pines Resort will provide you with off-site housing where each student is assigned to a double occupancy
room. Your subsidized cost for rent is $125.00 (USD) per week which will automatically be deducted from your pay.

Your apartment is completely furnished and will include basic necessities in both kitchenware and bedding supplies.
In order to secure your assignment, please make sure that you have $250.00 (USD) cash on hand with you upon your
arrival. This amount will serve as your security deposit. Upon successful completion of your training program, this
deposit will be returned to you less $75.00 for cleaning costs and any incidentals resulting in repair or maintenance

above and beyond normal wear and tear. (Note: At the discretion of The Sea Pines Resort, housing assignments and
cost/fees are subject to change with advance notice given by Human Resources)

4. Transportation:
You will be expected to provide your own transportation while here on Hilton Head Island. Many Work & Travel
participants choose to purchase a bicycle, as it is one of the most common and accessible modes of transportation on
Hilton Head Island and around The Sea Pines Resort.

5. Uniforms:
You will be expected to wear a job specific uniform based on your selected position. If you will be working as a Server
Assistant/Food Runner, you will be expected to wear black non-slip shoes, black socks, black shorts or pants and will
be provided one uniform top.

If you will be working in the kitchen as a Steward/Prep Cook, you are expected to wear your own kitchen attire (black
non-slip shoes, solid black or black & white checked chef pants, white or black undershirt, and white chef coat). You
will be provided with a black Sea Pines Culinary Team t-shirts and baseball style caps.

For all positions, long hair must be pulled back and fastened tightly to eliminate loose hair.

6. Incidentals:
Upon your arrival, you will need to purchase certain necessities before you receive your first paycheck. The Sea Pines
Resort advises each intern to carry at least $300.00 (USD) cash and a major credit card (i.e. MasterCard, Visa, or
American Express).

All interns are responsible for their own meals and personal expenses.

Please note that your eligibility for participation in The Sea Pines Resort Food & Beverage Program is contingent upon
meeting any eligibility criteria established by your school of enrollment and/or by your visa sponsoring agency. If you
are unsure of these requirements, please contact your faculty advisor.

To reserve your spot, please email Zsofia Varhelyi (zvarhelyi@ieexchanges.com) with International
Educational Exchanges within the next 14 days as proof of your acceptance to join the program. If you agree
to accept this training opportunity, please initial, sign and date where applicable. To secure your placement,
we require that you fax or mail the original document no later than October 15, 2018.

I, _____________________________________ agree to all program terms with The Sea Pines Resort, LLC
(hereinafter referred to as “The Host Property”) as outlined above.

I also understand and agree that the program terms with my Host Property is temporary and my Host Property
shall have the right to change my duties, functions, title, or responsibilities which, in the Host Property’s sole
discretion, may be necessary or appropriate for the proper functioning of the Host Property’s business. In
addition, this Agreement may be terminated at any time by the Host Property if the services of the Trainee are no
longer required for reasons beyond the control of the Host Property; Trainee resigns before the end of the contract
period; Trainees work authorization in the United States expires; or the Trainee fails to adequately perform the
duties as assigned.
