Cross Country
On Thursday 30 (yes, 30!) pupils from Years 1-6 took
part in the annual cross country event at Cobham Hall.

A beautiful sunny day for running meant all children

were really excited to get going……..and Bronte School
got under way with the best possible start with Orla
winning the gold medal in the Year 1 and 2 girls race. An
amazing win against 15 other girls, most a year older
than her. In the second race Kaelo finished in the gold
medal position meaning we had won 2 out of 2 races!!
In race 3 Bailey finished 3rd out of 25 runners! Our year
1&2 children also won their relay competition, a great
performance from our lower years!

A brilliant performance from all the children and a great

day out, well done to all.

MacMillan Coffee Morning

It was a busy morning in the homework teas room as many parents gathered to support our cakes and coffee
morning to raise funds for MacMillan. Many staff and pupils were also thrilled to see Mrs Dyson along with
Madame Baldacci, who made her first return visit to Bronte since retiring (the first of many we hope!).

The children also had an opportunity to purchase cakes which made breaktime even more anticipated than
usual! We are grateful to all our parents who made, bought and sent in cakes for this special fundraising
occasion.

During the morning Mrs Murphy very kindly set up and ran a Used Uniform Sale in the hall (with all proceeds
going to MacMillan), and then after school both cakes and uniform were available at the gate.

I am delighted to let you know that the sale of cakes raised £494.75 and the Used Uniform Sale raised £125.00
so in total Bronte School will donate £619.75 to MacMillan. Well done and thank you to everyone involved.

Planetarium
Years 1 and 6 r eached for the stars inside
a mobile planetarium this week. They
learned about the first men on the
moon, witnessed the lunar landings,
viewed Earth from space, explored stellar
constellations and much much more - a
fantastic experience to enhance their
respective space topics.

Shine Walk

On Saturday night members of the Bronte

team took part in the Shine Night Walk;
an arduous full Marathon distance
overnight walk through the wet and
windy streets of London. This annual
event is in support of Cancer Research UK
and we are delighted to have raised
£2,977.50 for this worthwhile cause so
far with more donations coming in!
