Electronics Policy
Cell phones are not permitted in ANY instructional area. This is a SCHOOL and BOARD policy. If a
student brings a phone into the classroom, it will be confiscated, taken to the office and given back
at the end of the day. If it is confiscated a second time, it will be confiscated and sent to the office
for the student to pick up at the end of the day, and a phone call will be sent home. If a phone is
confiscated a third time, it will be confiscated, contact will be made home, and the device will need
to be picked up by a parent during school hours.

Plagiarism Policy
Kitscoty Jr./Sr. High Plagiarism Policy:
“Plagiarism can be defined as the wrongful use or close imitation of another
person’s language, thoughts, ideas, or expressions, and the representation of them as your own
original work.
We consider plagiarism to be a reflection of a person’s character.

Consequences for plagiarism could include, but will not be limited to:
- teacher or administration reprimand
- re-writing material at the teacher’s convenience
- assigning a mark of zero to the submitted work
- suspension from school”

Exam Lock-In

Students will be given the opportunity to lock-in their final course mark before writing their final exam!
School requirements are:
1. A course mark of 80% or higher before the final exam
2. Maximum of one course final exam per semester can be locked in
3. The lock-in privilege will be lost if the mark on the final exam is 15% or more below the course mark prior to
the exam
4. The lock-in may be denied if the student has incomplete assignments throughout the term
Expectations
Assignments
Assignment guidelines and due dates will be clearly provided with each assignment and will be of
reasonable length. Students will be expected to hand in assignments at the beginning of class on
the due date provided. If students cannot get coursework in on time, it will be expected at the
beginning of the next class and a plan will be arranged to work with Miss Leniczek.
If a student does not complete a given assignment after arranging a plan with Miss Leniczek,
contact will be made home and the student will receive a grade of ZERO. Frequent late work will
result in contact home and consequences decided by the teacher and principal.

Preparedness
Students are expected to come to class prepared with the required materials each day (highlighter,
pens, pencils, eraser, ruler, whiteout, calculator, and binder). As a small amount of time outside the
classroom can result in a large amount of instructional time lost, students will not be allowed to
leave class to go get forgotten materials.
