4 M for scholarship at LNHS

Mayor Rodolfo H. Manalo together with the Sangguniang Bayan

Members allotted Php.1,445,400.00 budget for the scholarships given to

the Junior and Senior High School students of Laiya National High School

(LNHS) during the second Parents-Teachers Association (PTA) meeting,

July 31.

About 430,000 was the budget issued to the scholarships of

students from Grade 7 to Grade 10 and around 1 M was the fund

given to the students from Senior High School Department.

“Naniniwala po kaming edukasyon ang magpapalaya sa atin

mula sa kahirapan”,Mayor Manalo said.

Also,Mayor Manalo discussed that education is one of the

aspects that the local government prioritizes. Sangguniang Bayan

Members supports the scholarship program to reduce the number

of out- of-school youth in San Juan, Batangas.

“Ang pndo pong inilalaan namin para sa scholarships ay mula

sa mga nagbabayad ng buwis kaya huwag po tayong magsasawang

magbigay ng buwis sa munisipyo”,Mayor Manalo said.

Taxes coming from business owners especially those with high

incomes are mostly the source of the fund for the free education program.

The decrease in number of the out-of-school youth is the expected

Result of the bigger budget for the scholarship program at LNHS.
