TERMS AND CONDITIONS – CUSTOMER SURVEY COMPETITION 2010

1. The Promoter

1.1 The promoter of this competition (the “Competition”) is Canon Europa, N.V. at
Bovenkerkerweg 59-61, 1185 XB, Amstelveen, The Netherlands (“Canon”).

2. The Participants

2.1 Participants must be resident in any of the following countries:

• Austria
• Belgium
• Czech Republic
• Denmark
• Finland
• France
• Germany
• Hungary
• Ireland
• Italy
• Luxembourg
• Netherlands
• Norway
• Poland
• Portugal
• Slovakia
• Spain
• Sweden
• Switzerland
• United Kingdom

2.2 Persons affiliated with Canon, including but not limited to Canon staff and
their family members, are not permitted to enter the Competition. Any such
Entry will be disqualified.
2.3 By submitting an entry, all participants are deemed to have agreed to be
bound by these terms and conditions.

3. How to Enter the Competition

3.1 This Competition is open to all those who have completed the Canon
Customer Support Centre Survey and/or the Customer Repair Survey and
have opted into the Competition
3.2 No purchase or entry fee is required. Simply complete the Canon customer
survey and answer the Competition question and slogan at the end of the
survey for your chance to win.
3.3 This promotion runs for total of 12 months (1 year) from 1 January 2010 to
31 December 2010, with five winners selected each month on the last day
of that month (finishing on 31 December 2010 with 60 winners in total).
3.4 Only one entry will be accepted per person per completed survey.

4. Allocation of the Prizes

4.1 All correct entries received by midday on the last day of each month will be
entered into the competition (correct entries received after midday on the
last day of the month will be entered into the next month’s competition).
4.2 The five entries with the best slogans will be selected from all the correct
entries each month. As such, a total of 60 winners will be selected
throughout the term of this competition (2010).
4.3 The best slogans will be those slogans that, in the absolute discretion of
Canon (or any third party authorised by Canon to administer this
Competition), are the most appropriate, funniest, most original or most
thoughtful of that month’s entries.
4.4 On selection, the Winners will be notified by Canon (or its authorised third
party) via email within 14 days after the end of the month and must confirm
acceptance within 14 days of notification.
4.6 By entering the Competition, all participants expressly agree to allow Canon (or its
authorised third party) to publish the name and country of the winners. If a winner does not
wish such details to be published, he/she must make this clear at time of accepting the
prize.
4.7 A list of Prize winners will be available 1 month after the end date of the
Competition by sending an e-mail to amanda.peet@gfk.com
4.8 The decision of Canon (or its authorised third party) and the allocation of
prizes are absolutely final and no correspondence will be entered into.

5. Prizes

5.1 The prizes each month will be five Canon digital camera (DSC) with an
estimated value between 200 Euro and 250 Euro (between two hundred and
two hundred and fifty Euros) and will be selected by Canon (or its authorised
third party). The actual prize and value will be communicated to the winners
when notified.
5.2 All prizes are non-transferrable and no cash alternative is available.
5.3 All Winners must accept the Prize within 14 days from the date of notification by sending an
e-mail with his/her acceptance to the e-mail address indicated in the notification sent by
Canon (or any authorised third party administering the competition). Upon acceptance
thereof, the prize will be sent by post to the winner within 4 weeks of the date of
acceptance.
5.4 If a winner fails to accept the prize within 14 days of notification, it will be revoked and the
next best entry will be selected and awarded the prize and so on until acceptance.
5.5 Canon reserves the right to offer any alternative Canon product of equal or greater value as
prizes.
5.6 Canon reserves the right to void the Competition at any time and change these Terms and
Conditions without prior notice, if this is necessitated by unforeseen circumstances beyond
Canon’s reasonable control.
5.7 The payment of any taxes applicable to the prize will be exclusively the responsibility of the
winner.

6. DISCLAIMERS

6.1 Canon shall not be liable for any direct or indirect losses, damages or injuries of any nature
howsoever caused, sustained by any participant under this Competition, insofar as
permitted by law. However, nothing in these Terms and Conditions shall have the effect of
excluding or restricting Canon's liability for personal injury or death, or caused by gross
negligence or willful intent by Canon.
6.2 Canon shall not be liable for any failure to fulfill this offer where such failure is caused by any
supervening circumstances amounting to force majeure. Such circumstances shall include,
but shall not be limited to, severe weather conditions, fire, flood, war, earthquake, riots,
industrial dispute, terrorism, acts of God, or events that, without the fault of either party,
render performance impossible or incapable of satisfactory execution.
6.3 Canon accepts no responsibility for any entries sent after the closing dates as set out in
Clause 3.3. GfK NOP and Canon do not accept any responsibility for late or lost entries due
to the Internet. Proof of sending is not proof of receipt

7. GOVERNING LAW

7.1 The Laws of the Netherlands will apply to this Competition and the parties agree to the
exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Amsterdam.

8. PRIVACY NOTICE

8.1 Canon is committed to protecting your privacy and any personal information supplied by you
will be used by Canon and any of its authorised third parties solely for the purpose of
administering the Competition. The personal data provided in the Entry is held on secure
computer and manual files and shall not be processed for any other purposes than
administering the Competition. You have the right to access, correct, update, or delete your
