Introduction
Investigating case studies are one way
to understand globalization. This
assignment will provide you with the
opportunity to evaluate different case
studies and the impact globalization
has had on different groups’ identity.
Over the course of Related Issue 1 we have examined aspects of globalization, tools of
Globalization and the positive and negative aspects of it and how it shapes our own
identity and the identities of others. This information has had much terminology that is
important to understand, and to apply.
Metis, Francophone, Lubicon Cree, The Inuit, Native Americans, India’s anti-colonial
movement (Gandhi), Tibetan Monks (Dalai Lama), African American, or the people of
the Congo (Tin Soldiers or Coltan Miners). If you would like to choose another
marginalized group, it must be cleared with me first.
“While the list of marginalized groups ‘most at risk’ is long and include persons with disabilities,
youth, women, gender identification, members of minority groups, indigenous people, internally
displaced persons, and non-national, including refugees, asylum seekers and migrant workers…
Our focus for this project is on indigenous people of various countries.”
