DISSERTATION PROPOSAL

1. INTRODUCTION
Topic: In general, there has been a ubiquitous perception in the corporate world that,
the industry performance of local MBA graduates does not effectively satisfy the industry
needs. This assumption may seem equivocal to most, especially the institutions of
higher learning which conduct MBA programs. However the industry seems to base their
argument on the effectiveness of astute higher order thinking skills and decision making
prowess of graduates entering into the corporate world upon graduating from MBA
schools.

Focus: In this study, the focus will be on the process of knowledge transfer in MBA
programs with reference to industry requirements, by various local academic institutions
in Malaysia. The emphasis in the inquiry of this study will probe into, the curriculum
design and development with reference to industry needs, and with particular focus on
pedagogical processes and assessment strategies.
