Review Sixty-seven percent of 112 organizations surveyed employ MBA graduates in higher
positions in their organizations. There is no preference for graduates from specific
business schools. MBAs with good work ethics, sound management and leadership
skills as well as critical thinking and analytical abilities, are more likely to be hired. It
is perceived that in future, employers expect more MBAs with the ability to
understand local, Asian and global business practices. In summary, there is a greater
propensity in the industry for employing MBA graduates with astute higher order
thinking skills for senior management positions who will be able to exhibit innovative
skills. However, the concern in the market is over the quality of graduates who are
seeking employments in higher positions in the business organizations to be able to
handle challenges emerging from the forces of globalization.

Review Since time immemorial, education in human civilization began through an informal
process of socialization. Teaching has over several centuries of development
transformed from a simple educational function into a complex profession. It is seen
today as a very specialized function involving pedagogic principles and practices
designed to provide unique service to meet the educational needs of the individual
and of society. Studies had evolved on pedagogical theories that led to today’s
understanding of the learner and learning, as well as teaching-learning processes at
different age levels in higher education. That said, from available literature it has
been established that philosophical postulates and theoretical propositions have
contributed to the development of pedagogical principles that underlie good
teaching-learning models and practices in higher education.

Review Technological innovations in the digital world has transformed the way communities
socialize and learn. In this millennium, various virtual communities among the
millennials of the world are discovering interesting ways of learning new ideas
through rapid technological changes. Such developments are challenging the current
methods of classroom engagement in the academic environment. Students want to
be active participants in the learning process. As a result, studies are underway
exploring new strategies, such as on the G.E.T (Group work, Hands-on Learning,
Technology) conceptual model which aims to help academics transform their
teaching and learning environment to suit the millennials taste for acquiring new
information and knowledge. It is discernible that the academic environment is on a
continuous pursuit in exploring new ways to consolidate an effective and relevant
pedagogical strategy to effect knowledge transfer.

Review An extensive period of study and also a review of literature in field of management
education in Malaysia indicate that Institutions of Higher Learning had failed in
not producing the required quality graduates who can meet the needs of the
industry. Producing employable graduates both in terms of quality and
quantity is the prescribed objectives of any IHL besides research and
development activities. However, the study indicates protracted plethora of
issues in management education in Malaysia.
