General Meeting Minutes


April 5, 2017
In attendance: Tracy Spagnolo, Dawn Voelker, Molly Derck, Crystal Richardville, Sara Bedient,
Jessica Colburn, Becky Becker, Sara Koziol, Amanda VanWagner, Jennifer Jachlewski, Gabrielle
Guilford, Ed Bedient, Ann Marie Reidy, Ali Majchrowicz, Melissa Aprile

Meeting called to order at 6:05 pm


Reading and approval of March 2017 minutes Motion to approve: Sara Bedient, Ann Marie Reidy 2nd

Report of the Treasurer:


Took in money for Fowler’s fundraiser 40% profit $1605.60 profit
1st grade field trip check sent
Movie night $ turned to PARP

Fundraising:
Funds are still down and looking toward options for end of the year
Basket fundraiser (Bengerts) and Scripts fundraisers

Yearbook Sale/Pictures:
Ongoing; Orders are due by Friday, April 5, 2017
Sara will order a few extras in case parents forget to order
Ali will send out an email blast for reminder to order

Nominating Committee:
Sara Koziol reports the nominations for the 2017-2018 Winchester PTA.
Co-presidents: Ali Majchrowicz & Sara Bedient 1st vice president: Crystal Richardville
2nd vice president: Julie Winters Recording Secretary: Becky Becker
Corresponding Secretary: Ann Marie Reidy Treasurer: Melissa Aprile
All nominations accepted. The floor is open to send in nominations by May 1 st. Send to any
nominating committee (Ali Majchrowicz, Sara Koziol, Melissa Aprile)

School Report:
There is a volunteer to donate the concrete and labor for the reading nook. We are looking for any
donations of benches for that area. We are looking to plant a garden to use in our cafeteria. This
will all be located in the building nook bordering the ramp, art room, and cafeteria.
Principal and 1st grade teachers went over to Northwood to meet with the Kindergarten teachers to
discuss each kindergartener coming over to Winchester. The nurses have also been in contact
about students needs.
Looking to get jobs up and running early next year.
Lighthouse team sent out survey to teachers regarding Leadership requests next year.
4th grade went to Tift Nature Preserve

Book Fair:
May 10th –May 12th BOGO sale.
PTA asking for donations for camping gear for a basket to raffle off to make money for books for
our school. (All for Books)

Sale will be in the music room this year.


During lunch on Fridays, there is a DVD playing of nature scenes.
Start promoting 2 weeks prior.

Muffins with Mom:


Julie Winters running that. Talking logistics for setting up that morning.
Possibly serving lines in Cafeteria and Gymnasium. Looking for 15 people to volunteer to help.
7:30 am start time this year

DPC:
May 30 is reorganization meeting to create a more clear vision with a solid board, formally invite
PTA presidents, organize guest speakers, and making it a more approachable organization.
Educating the community (IEP, Renaissance House, etc). Planning the Meet the Candidates night
West Middle May 1st @ 6:30 pm.

Bald for Bucks:


Looking for donations for baskets for raffle. PTA will donate $75 for a basket or two baskets.

New Business:
Cambell’s Labels for Education: ending this year and offers have not been great so profit will be
split between PE and Art departments.

Upcoming Dates: Next meeting; May 3rd at 6 pm PTA meeting


May 10th at 6 pm Jay Brinker will speak about curriculum cabinet
