Concept of Knowledge in Christian Religion

In Christianity, the word of knowledge is a spiritual gift. It has been associated

with the ability to teach the faith, but also with forms of revelation similar to prophecy. It
is closely related to another spiritual gift, the word of wisdom. Knowledge of the nature
of God and the nature of man as expressed in the life. It is a knowledge of ourselves in
relation to the nature of God and the teaching of Jesus. This means that it is also a
knowledge of ourselves in relation to our neighbour ; an unremitting con- sciousness of
our relation to man through God and to God through man. God or the nature of God until
we have expressed it in action on behalf of our neighbour with imaginative sincerity and
self- lessness. it is about being and doing. It comes of experience when this is in unity
with social experience; it is a knowledge of the relationship between the highest inward
experience of divine love and its highest outward expression among men. The purpose is
to love God with one's entire being, including the mind.

The word knowledge in the christian religion denotes an understanding, a

recognition, or an acknowledgment. To “know” something is to perceive it or to be aware
of it. Knowledge carries the idea of a deeper appreciation of something or a relationship
with someone. The Bible is clear that the knowledge of God is the most valuable
knowledge a human being can possess. But it is also clear that simply being aware of
God’s existence is not sufficient; the knowledge of God must encompass the deep
appreciation for and relationship with.

The word of knowledge is often defined as the ability of one person to know
what God is currently doing or intends to do in the life of another person. It can also be
defined as knowing the secrets of another person's heart. Through this revelation, it is
believed that God encourages the faith of the believer to receive the healing or comfort
that God offers.

In Christian Religion, those with knowledge are able to collect, remember, and
access information. They’re able to extract the meaning out of information. They “see
through” the facts to the dynamics of what, how, and why. Understanding is a lens which
brings the facts into crisp focus and produces principles. And those with wisdom know
which principle to apply in a given context. They know what actions to take next. They
do the right thing in the given situation. In contrast, there are many who have great
knowledge and understanding but who consistently do the wrong thing. Wisdom is the
right use of knowledge. To know is not to be wise. Many men know a great deal, and are
all the greater fools for it. There is no fool so great a fool as a knowing fool. But to know
how to use knowledge is to have wisdom.

It is clear that Christians are to study God’s word to learn his revealed knowledge
