s I began to write this brief message for memories of all who touched my life at FLAME.

In-FLAME readers, myriads of thoughts
raced into my mind; the principal ones,
however, are reflecting on How I got involved
with FLAME and How it feels now to recede from
it…
Today, FLAME stands tall and is sitting in a quite
confident state, attracting good students from all
over Bharat and some from beyond as well. Both
the undergraduate and postgraduate programs
are finding their niche among aspiring students
of today and tomorrow because these programs
continue to make strides and raise the bar of
excellence each day. I wish them great success.

Some of you know of my passion for Urdu poetry

It was indeed a huge change for me to leave a
country and life of comfort and plunge into an
opportunity I was quite apprehensive about
since it meant making a lot of adjustments.
Nonetheless, I did what I had to and feel now
that my experience of the past four years was
quite tolerable: the students who touched my
heart most definitely made the leap I took, both
enjoyable and worthwhile. They taught me a
thing or two which I will take to the bank for the
rest of my life. Incidentally, this experience also
brought me back to Pune, a city I once called my
home.
Time will tell where the future will take me when
I will no longer be part of FLAME; however, no
matter what, I will always cherish the fond
so I will end my message with quote by Iqbal:
Parwana ek patanga, jugnu bhi ek patanga/
Woh roshni ka talib ( seeker,) ye jugnu ka sarapa
( avtar)
Like a patanga, many schools want to become
great whereas FLAME is already there.

Teachers Day celebrations
Happy Birthday Parag Sir!
FLAME believes in doing things the right way
and that too with a desi-touch to it!
It was the day when all Faculty members were
cordially invited to lunch Hindustani Style i.e.
sitting on the ground while the students lovingly
served them. And if this was not enough, the
celebrations had just started!
If there is one celebration that has to be voted
the best on campus, this would stand a very high
chance. Glitter, Glamour, and good humor
combined with entertainment wherein the Final
Year Undergraduate Students ensured the
audience were glued to the stage and the person
invited to the hot seat.
Special Awards, Game shows, “Na-Real” awards
all took center stage. With igniting pulses and
anxiety surrounded by immense applause, the
students acknowledged the Faculty for their
involvement, dedication and knowledge in
showing them the right path towards a
Successful Career. The event was organized by
the Student Council and the Final Year
Undergraduate students at FLAME.

graduate students currently studying in the second
year of FLAME School of Liberal Education for the
NGO Immersion Program 2010 conducted in
Feb.'10 This was a customized, intensive program
for FSLE students, to try and encompass a detailed
NGO experience in the short span of one week. The
students visited many NGOs, like Kripa
Foundation, which works in the area of De-
addiction and Rehabilitation, Indian Sponsorship
Committee, an organization working in the area of
education, Swadhar, an NGO serving in the field of
educating the underprivileged. These practical
sessions were interspersed with Group
Discussions and interactions at campus with an
aim to both study the working of NGOs and
understand, to the best extent possible in the
available time, the lives of the inmates /
beneficiaries of the NGO's. First Position for their
presentations based on the visits mentioned
above was given to the group which consisted of
Palak Shah, Shivani ShahShruti Chandrana,
Shaurya Talwar, Yash Brahmbhatt, Rahul Laroya.
Second Position was given to Meena Aier, Divya
Singhvi, Swetha Movva, Swati Simha, Mihir Samir
Verma, Samrat Urval, Swetha Murali, Vaidehi
Bhagwat, Anugya Golchha, Ritu Gavandi, Tracy
Desouza, Sehar Chumble Megha Thumbunkel.
Third Position was given to Yash Merchant, Disha
Chaudhry, Ameya Davda, Divya Punjabi. Best NGO
Film was given to Uditi Shah, Sejal Singhvi, Shruti
Bansal, Dhvani Kothari, Manan Vyas, Kunjal
Gandhi.
This day also recognized Sixty One FLAME Family
members who completed a service of 1000 days.

2296 days of service!!
Towards the end of the day, everybody went back
with a new benchmark to strive harder and
smarter than what has been done and in turn to
compete with the ever dynamic world!
FLAME Investment Lab (FIL)
A unique concept incorporated into a structured
course at the institute is the FLAME Investment
Lab. The program includes a wide range of
knowledge base that helps students understand
the presence of finance and related subject matter
to a greater context. The program holds several
practical examples, exercises and real time work
for students to understand and to specialize
themselves with the true nature of what the future
holds. FIL is run by students for the students and
sessions are held every Saturday for a couple of
hours. Till date, the lab has made immense
progress with inviting top personalities like Rakesh
Jhunjhunwala, Ramesh Dhamani, Ketan Parikh,
Chitra Ramakrishna, to name a few to real time
investment in stocks and shares. This year, the
team that follows the market the best will be given
an opportunity to represent the institute in a
country-wide competition. The FIL sessions
resumed for this academic year promising new
milestones and achievements. This year, elections
were held to appoint new student office bearers
for FIL. The new student office at FIL consists of the
