Part 1:

TGV3M Graphic Re-creation in Photoshop

Assignment:
In Photoshop, Students will re-create a static graphic for high definition television based on the
supplied exemplar. Students must re-create the graphic using the supplied graphic elements.
The completed graphic must be an exact match of the supplied graphic, including; colours, text
(style and size). Size of shapes can be a close estimate to resemble original.

A background image will be supplied for a reference point but should not be imported into After
Effects for animation.

Graphic Criteria:
• Colours of all elements must match original
• Layer stack must only include elements used in final design
• All layers must be given a name that identifies the layer content
• Use the “rounded rectangle” tool (above the hand tool) for the text separator between “Drake”
and “Views”

Text Sizes
“Drake” Font “Futura” “Condensed Medium” 100 px
“Views” Font “Futura” “Medium Italics” 50px
“6” Font “Myriad Pro” “Regular” 440px.
“THE” Font “Myriad Pro” “Regular” 85px.

All layers must be given a name that identifies the layer content

After Effects Animation Criteria:


• Composition length 20 sec.

• All layers must be given a name that identify the layer content appropriately
• Only layers required for animation to be in the layer stack
• Order that elements animate must follow exactly specified times provided
• Animations must be smooth and without extra movements
• Total of 8 elements animate
• Animation completed at 2 sec. 20 frames

HINT: Import the provided exemplar animation video file into Premiere Pro so you can go
through the animated video frame by frame (use cursor keys) to match animation timing exactly.
