GENERAL INFORMATION

SERIAL NUMBERS AND ENGINE NAMEPLATE

For ease in identification, the engine model, serial and CD-ROM: Compact Disk - Read Only Memory
specification numbers are stamped on each nameplate
CSA: Canadian Standards Association
(see Figure 1.15-1). The nameplate is located on the
lower right side of the crankcase. E-Help: ESP-Help
The following information is stamped on each ECU: Engine Control Unit
nameplate: model number, serial number, special
ECP: Engine Control Panel
application approval number (power approval), valve
clearance, compression ratio, firing order, governed ESM: Engine System Manager
speed, altitude limit at which an engine derate takes
ESP: Electronic Service Program
place and primary and secondary fuel ratings which
show the fuel, minimum WKI, rated output in horsepower GUI: Graphical User Interface
and kWs.
HMI: Human Machine Interface
When requesting information, you will need to reference
HSD: High Side Driver
both the engine model and serial number. If the
nameplate is defaced or detached, the serial number IMAP: Intake Manifold Air Pressure
may be obtained directly off the crankcase. To locate the
IMAT: Intake Manifold Air Temperature
serial number, look directly below the nameplate
