Biographical Research- Steve Jobs

Full Name: ​Steven Paul Jobs

Lifespan: ​February 24, 1955 to October 5, 2011

Early Family Background and Created Family Structure:

He was born to Joanne Schieble and John Jandali. His father was a Syrian political science

professor and his mother was a speech therapist. Steve was put up for adoption at a young age,

he was adopted by Clara and Paul Jobs and that is when he obtained his name. He lives in

Mountain View, California and his dad and him worked on electronics and it was instilled into

him. Jobs had a tough time concentrating in school because he was so far ahead and so smart.

Personality Characteristics and Areas of Aptitude, Talent and Interest:

​Steve Jobs was self-sufficient. He wanted to do something completely different from anything

that has ever been done and he had a vision. His main talents were working with computers and

technology. He was determined in his work, he was inseparable from his job. His energy

towards what he was doing reflected into those all around him.

Major Career/Professional Events and Accomplishments:

He founded Apple and invented Ipad, Ipod and Iphone. Steve Jobs brought around Pixar in

1986. One of his most effective accomplishments was the Iphone in 2007 as it is still growing

today and is a huge part of the cell phone world. He kicked off the tablet trend and many other
companies soon came out with tablets that were similar to apple products, but not the same. He

was worth 8.3 billion dollars.

Personal Life Themes/Beliefs:

Sources say that Jobs was a Buddhist. He believed that things didn’t happen at random, but life

is intelligent. He lived by a life theme of “simplify”, he eliminated unnecessary components of

what he was working on and focused on the relative components. He also lived by the theme of

“focus”, he disregarded the distractions and worked on what was important. These were not just

themes he associated himself with at work, but throughout his whole life.

1985: Awarded the National Medal of Technology.

2012: Grammy Trustees Award. This is an award for someone who has influenced the music

industry indirectly.

2013: Inducted as a legend of Disney


Lasting Contributions:

One of the most important lasting contributions of Steve Jobs is the Iphone, it has changed the

world that we live in and the way that we live in the world. Itunes changed the world of music,

allowing people to legally download the music that they wanted. He helped grow the idea of a

personal computer. He created Apple stores are still a huge hit today, whether it is to get an

Apple product fixed or to buy an Apple product. Ultimately, Jobs changed the world of

technology for the better and we use it in many parts of our lives.

Death and Aftermath:

He died after a 7 year battle with pancreatic cancer. His last words were, “Oh wow. Oh wow.

Oh wow”. He regrets trying to beat his cancer with medicine. He has left a huge mark on the

world and the technology world by all of his hard work. He left his family in a very peaceful

way with them all surrounding him.
