Mississippi corn for grain production is forecast at 86.5 million bushels, down 1 percent from September 1 forecast and
down 8 percent from 2017. Based on conditions as of October 1, yield is expected to average 188 bushels per acre, up
3 bushels from last month but down 1 bushel from last year. Planted acreage is revised to 480,000 acres, down
10,000 acres from June 2018. Harvested acreage for grain is revised from 470,000 acres to 460,000 acres.

Upland cotton production is forecast at 1.46 million bales, up 10,000 bales from the September 1 forecast and
109,000 bales above last year. Yield is expected to average 1,140 pounds per harvested acre, up 8 pounds from last month
and up 102 pounds from 2017. Harvested acreage is estimated at 615,000 acres, down 10,000 acres from 2017.

Hay production, excluding alfalfa, is forecast at 1.18 million tons, down 19 percent from 2017. Based on conditions as of
October 1, yield is expected to average 2.00 tons per acre, unchanged from the August 1 forecast and down 0.40 ton from
last year. Producers expect to harvest 590,000 acres of all hay, excluding alfalfa, down 20,000 acres from 2017.

Peanut production in 2018 is forecast at 96.0 million pounds, unchanged from the September 1 forecast but down
44 percent from last year. Based on October 1 conditions, yield is expected to average 4,000 pounds per acre, unchanged
from last month and unchanged from last year. Area for harvest, at 24,000 acres, is down 19,000 acres from 2017.

All rice production for the state is forecast at 10.1 million hundredweight, unchanged from the September 1 forecast but
up 20 percent from last year's production of 8.44 million hundredweight. Based on conditions as of October 1, the all rice
yield for 2018 is forecast at 7,300 pounds per acre, unchanged from last month but down 100 pounds from last year.
Producers expect to harvest 139,000 acres of rice, up 25,000 acres from 2017.

Sorghum for grain production in 2018 is forecast at 240,000 bushels, down 25 percent from the September 1 forecast and
down 17 percent from a year ago. Based on October 1 conditions, yield is expected to average 80 bushels per acre,
unchanged from last month but up 8 bushels from 2017. Planted acreage is revised to 4,000 acres, down 1,000 acres from
June 2018. Harvested acreage for grain is revised from 4,000 acres to 3,000 acres.

Soybean production in 2018 is forecast at 117 million bushels, up 1 percent from the September 1 forecast and up
1 percent from last year. Based on October 1 conditions, yield is expected to average 53 bushels per acre, unchanged from
last month and unchanged from last year. Planted acreage is revised to 2.22 million acres, up 20,000 acres from June
2018. Harvested acreage estimated at 2.20 million acres, up 20,000 acres from June 2018.
