Project Roles and Responsibilities

ROLES RESPONSIBILITIES PARTICIPANT(S)


Project Sponsor  Principal stakeholder who can approve Engineer 1
the budget for the project and has the
power to execute changes.
 Helps on providing solutions for any
issues that may be encountered during the
execution of project actions and escalate
issues as necessary.
 Appoints the project manager.
 Attend to weekly meetings and update the
project status to the upper management.
Project Manager  Ensure the completion of the defined Engineer 2
project.
 Manage the activities of the project and
update the Project Sponsor on the status
of the project.
 Coordinate to the team the details of the
work plan and tracks the progress of the
project.
 Ensure the execution of day to day project
actions and review the project progress to
the Project Sponsor during weekly
meeting.
 Prepare and submit weekly reports, issues
encountered and corrective actions to the
Project Sponsor.
 Identify the project resource
requirements and works with the resource
managers.
 Ensure all members of the team have
roles and responsibilities which are
documented and approved by the Project
Sponsor.
Advisory Team  Supports the need of resources. Engineer 3
 Provides high level of inputs to the Engineer 4
project based on previous experience. Technician 1
 Help approve on project deliverables. Technician 2

 Help on decision making and resolve


issues during the completion of the
project.
 Provide guidance to the project and
review the risk tolerances and limits.
 Set project direction and maintain the
project oversight.
 Communicate to the team the project
expectations.
 Assess team recommendations and help
make final decisions.
 Provide leadership to the ongoing project.
 Final authority for any scope changes and
Process definitions.
Project Leader  Leads core team meetings to review Engineer 5
status and weekly updates of the project.
 Facilitates the team discussion on
problem solving process and document
final decisions.
 Maintains the accurate team activities
and results.
 Responsible for resource and asset
management.
 Present the project testing result to the
Advisory Team to review if the goals and
objectives of the project are met.
QA Engineer  Provide the project testing guidelines and Engineer 6
requirements.
 Evaluate the project testing result of the
and ensure that quality will not be
affected.
 Check for any quality risk on the project.
 Requires Failure Mode Effect Analysis if
there are any quality risks noted.
 Ensure that company specification is
updated once the project is deployed on
the line.
