Problematic:
At present the city of Chiclayo has built the urban roads of bad qualities of asphalt
mixtures in the flexible pavements, that due to this bad quality of construction the roads
deteriorate by humidity, and lose support of traffic of heavy vehicles what makes that the
roads lose formality and are destroyed by each vehicular traffic, therefore the
deteriorated roads cause problems in the vehicular traffic damaging the damping of the
vehicles.
Problem formulation:
How to avoid the poor quality of asphalt mixtures in the urban roads of the city of
Chiclayo?
Objective:
Improve the quality of asphalt mixtures in the flexible pavements of the urban roads of
the city of Chiclayo, for a better durability and resistance.
Justification:
Make quality evaluation of asphalt mixtures in the pavements, to detect if the mixture is
of good or bad quality, and thus prevent the deterioration by humidity and destruction by
weight of vehicular traffic.
Main ideas:
Design asphalt mixes of good quality by applying the rules correctly.
Side ideas:
Reinforce the asphalt folder with paving quality materials.
Conclusion:
Tests were applied such as the quantitative extraction of asphalt mixtures, the gradation
of aggregates for asphalt mixtures, the absorption of aggregates, the Los Angeles
abrasion. These tests showed that they use aggregate sizes of less than 37.5 mm. (1
½), The percentage of fracture faces in the aggregates and the percentage of flat
elongated particles.
The apparent specific gravity and unit weight of the asphalt mix were tested using
compacted paraffin samples, stability, creep and vacuum percentage. Once the study
samples of fifteen streets and avenues were analyzed, the asphalt content was tested
using the gas centrifuge and adding machine.
Once obtained, the errors of these tests led to the comparison and statistical analysis,
so we can issue a verdict if the asphalt mixtures in flexible pavements for urban roads in
the city of Chiclayo are of good or poor quality.
