sterilizers are recognized as the gold standard in prefabricated,
small chamber ethylene oxide sterilization and are used by

Suitable for Industrial Applications
3M™ Steri-Vac™ sterilizers provide small chamber ethylene
oxide sterilization in a manufacturing setting for medical device
manufacturers. Contracted, large chamber sterilization doesn’t fit
the requirement for all manufacturers, particularly those with
high value, small-size devices who prefer in-house control of their
sterilization processes. Steri-Vac provides a system that is self-
contained and only requires power, compressed air and exhaust
vent lines for operation. Multiple unit installations offer flexibility of
process parameters and inventory management. Environmentally
friendly 100% gas cartridges contain no CFCs or HFCs.

Utilizes a Safe Gas Cartridge
Steri-Vac ethylene oxide systems are engineered to provide a safer
system than gas tank systems. Our easy-to-handle, single-dose
3M Steri-Gas™ EO cartridges reduce the
potential for gas leakage and EO exposure.
The 100% ethylene oxide canisters are
available in various volumes and can be
custom filled for validation purposes.
Engineered to provide operator safety,
the canister is punctured only when the
chamber door is sealed and the proper
vacuum has been drawn inside the negative
pressure sterilizer chamber.

3M STERI-VAC STERILIZER /
AERATOR MODEL 5XL
The model 5XL is a dual-cycle 3M gas sterilizer/aerator with
programmable access codes. The 8XL may be supplied (same as
before) and may be supplied with user adjustable process parameters
for industrial applications. This will allow modification of certain cycle
parameters by the end user to develop sterilization cycles optimized
for the product to be sterilized. The single-dose Steri-Vac EO cartridge
is punctured inside the chamber only when specific negative pressure
chamber conditions are achieved. An optional relative humidity sensor
monitors sterilization chamber Rh during preconditioning phase.
Continuous temperature monitoring maintains temperature of the
selected cycle and automatically aborts if conditions are not met or
maintained. The built-in aeration cycle allows in-chamber, hands-off
aeration. Alternately, the load can be transferred to a separate aerator
allowing another sterilization cycle to be initiated. A two door pass-
through feature is available for cleanroom applications.

Steri-Vac XL Aerator is designed for compatibility with Steri-Vac 5XL
and has selectable aeration temperatures of 37° to 55° C (99° to
131° F). It offers these features:
• Digital display of temperature and elapsed aeration time
• Continuous operation and control via adjustable timer
Steri-Vac model XLS Aerator is designed to compliment double
door sterilizers.
3M STERI-VAC STERILIZER / AERATOR
MODEL 8XL
The larger volume 8XL offers almost twice the
processing volume of the 5XL. This design
offers continuous relative humidity monitoring
during the preconditioning phase to optimize
moisture required for the exposure phase.
Display provides real-time cycle status.
In-chamber automatic aeration is adjustable
from one hour to continuous aeration. A two
door pass-through feature is also available
for applications in cleanrooms.

Remote Display Option
The digital Remote Display Panel allows hands-off operation and is
available for both 5XL and 8XL. The 8XL maintains a digital record of
the previous ten cycles for review when needed. Up to four Steri-Vac
8XL sterilizers can be connected to a single Remote Display Panel.

3M EO Abator Models 50AN,
50AE and 50 AJ
The Abator catalytically removes EO gas exhausted from Steri-Vac
Sterilizers and aerators, converting it into CO2 and water vapor. At
normal operating conditions, removal efficiency is 99.9%+.

Single dose, puncture resistant cartridges of 100% EO gas specifically
designed for Steri-Vac sterilizers. Custom volume EO cartridges

EO Monitoring Badges
3M #3550 EO personal monitoring badges is a lightweight badge of
EO sensitive material. The 3550 badge provides passive monitoring of
an individual breathing zone during work shift. The monitor is mailed to
3M for analysis and a report provided back to the user. The employer is
notified immediately of any reading that exceeds the PEL.
Transfer Cart
Vestil Loading Cart #1610 assists in moving, lifting or lowering materials.
Freestanding Rack
Model 1237 free-standing rack accommodates two 5XL or aerator units.
In-wall Trim Panels
Model 1238 holds two 5XL, sterilizers/aerators combination. Model
1238X is a stainless steel surround for in-wall trim to compliment the
mounting rack provided with the 8XL.
Baskets
Baskets and a variety of basket accessories are available for both 5XL
and 8XL sterilizers and are stainless steel.
