EDITING PROCEDURE

• 1. Take out a piece of paper and write the heading. The title will be
DAR Essay editing/SLE 6. This will be a 40 point assignment. You will
be looking for errors on your essay. If you want to get the forty
points, you will need to take the assignment SERIOUSLY.

• 2. Give the paper to one of your classmates. They will read your
draft.

• 3. Then, write a #1 and put CAPITALIZATION.

your paper. I will give you ten minutes.

subjects of your sentences, go with your verbs. If something sounds
wrong, highlight this in orange.

• On the paper, write #4 and SUBJECT/VERB. Write down how


you should change the word. If you are not sure, ask me. You will
have five minutes.

• Ex. I are a farmer

PRONOUNS
• Now, read to another classmate one more time. Put a #5 and write PRONOUNS. You will get
ten minutes.

• 1. Look for the following words:

• I, He, she, you, we, they,

• These should be the subjects of your sentences OR AFTER words like is, am, are, was, and were.
If not, highlight them in yellow. Think about which words would sound better and write them on
your paper. If you are not sure, you may ask me.

• 2. Also, make sure you have no sentences like these.

• Ex: Me and my friend ate pickles.

• Instead: My friend and I ate pickles.

language grade. I will need these by 10:00pm
tonight. I will be checking my emails. If you have
any questions, email me before 5:00pm.
