Distributed J1939 Network
• Developed in the early 1990s by the SAE (Society of Automotive
Engineers).
• Began as a “CAN”-based application for in-vehicle communication
in trucks.
• Controller Area Network (CAN) is a serial bus system especially
suited to interconnect smart devices to build smart systems or
sub-systems.
• A J1939 network connects multiple electronic control units (ECU).
• The J1939 specification – which includes engine, transmission,
and brake message definitions - is dedicated to diesel engine
applications.

Digital Inputs
- EMCP 3.3. can accept up to eight (8) digital input
signals
- Two (2) inputs are non-programmable
- Emergency Stop

- Six (6) inputs are programmable for either high or low
activation using programmable Normally Open or Normally
Closed contacts
