c) Wind Pressure (Wp) : = 0.00256 x Kz x G x ( V )2 x Ir x Cd

(AASHTO 5th Edition 2009 Where Cd = Drag Co-efficient = 1.2
eqn. 3-1) Ir = Wind Importance Factor = 0.87 (for 25 years)
Kz = Height and Exposure Factor = 0.87
G = Gust Factor = 1.14

Wp = 26.20 LbS/Ft.2 = 127.9 kg/m2

d) Grade of Steel : ASTM A53 for pipes and ASTM A36 for baseplates or Equivalent

LOAD DATA

Load Case 1 - DEAD LOADS

DL1 = Self Weight 1.1 Ratio

DL2 = Dead load on the horizontal tubes due to hanging fabric apply in y
= 5 Kg/Lm

Load Case 2 - WIND LOADS (Front ) - WLF

WLF1 = Wind load on the horizontal tubes due to hanging fabric

Wind pressure (Wp) = 127.9 kg/m2
= 70% of Width of fabric x length x Wp
= 0.83 x 5.2 x 127.9 x 0.7
= 386.4 Kg

This load is distributed between 3 x 5.2 m horizontal MS square tubes

= 24.8 Kg/Lm

WLF2 = Wind load on the vertical tubes

Wind pressure (Wp) = 127.9 kg/m2
= Width of vertical tubes x Wp
= 0.1 x 127.9
= 12.8 Kg/Lm

Load Case 3 - WIND LOAD SIDE - WLS

WLS1 = Wind load on the horizontal tubes due to hanging fabric

Wind pressure (Wp) = 127.9 kg/m2
= 70% of Width of fabric x length x Wp
= 0.83 x 3.4 x 127.9 x 0.7
= 252.6 Kg

This load is distributed between 3 x 5.2 m horizontal MS square tubes

= 16.2 Kg/Lm

WLS2 = Wind load on the vertical tubes

Wind pressure (Wp) = 127.9 kg/m2
= Width of vertical tubes x Wp
= 0.1 x 127.9
= 12.8 Kg/Lm

Load Case 4 - WIND LOADS TRANSVERSE - WLT (20% of WLF)

WLT1 = 20% Total WLF1 (applied on side)

= WLF1 x 0.2
= 24.8 x 0.2
= 4.95 Kgs/Lm.

WLT2 = 20% Total WLF2

= WLF2 x 0.2
= 12.8 x 0.2
= 2.56 Kgs/Lm.

Load Combinations 5 = DL + WLF

Load Combinations 6 = DL + WLS

Load Combinations 7 = DL + WLF + WLT

Load Combinations 8 = DL + 0.6 WLF + 1.5 WLT

All the above loads are applied on the structure using STAAD software and analysis were performed.
