Introduction
Amadeus is a leading provider of advanced technology solutions for the global travel industry.
Customer groups include travel providers (e.g. airlines, hotels, rail and ferry operators, etc.), travel
sellers (travel agencies and websites), and travel buyers (corporations and travel management
companies).

With 389 carriers implemented and 166 markets deployed, Amadeus offers travel agents the largest
community of carriers and markets with electronic ticketing around the world. In 2009, Amadeus
manages up to 2 million travel reservations daily and processes more than half a billion travel
bookings annually.

The Amadeus system is complex, and a look at a few figures can highlight why:

 Amadeus registered over 500 million bookings in 2009, placing it as market leader.
 Amadeus serves more than 100,000 travel agency locations across the globe providing them
with 95% of the world's scheduled airline seats and more than 85,000 hotel properties.
 Amadeus empowers around 260 airline websites.

Amadeus has established a truly global presence:

 Central Headquarters
Central sites are located in Madrid (Corporate Head Quarters & Marketing), Nice
(Development) and Erding (Operations).

 Regional offices
These provide sales, marketing and customer support to Amadeus’ operations around the
world. These are located in Miami, Bangkok, Buenos Aires and Dubai.

 World markets
At country level, Amadeus maintains sales and marketing offices around the world that
provide local sales, customer service and support. Today, there are 73 local Amadeus
Commercial Organizations covering frontline activities in some 195 countries.

A quick look at the history of Amadeus:

 1987
Air France, Iberia, Lufthansa and SAS agree to create a new global distribution system.
As a result, Amadeus is born on 21 October 1987.

 1992
The first Amadeus Passenger Name Record (PNR) is created. System user airline sales offices
migrate to Amadeus for all reservation requirements. We launch Amadeus Cars and Amadeus
Hotels.

 1998
Amadeus successfully connects all System One users into the Amadeus global distribution
system (GDS), in the largest migration in travel industry history to date. Amadeus becomes the
world’s largest GDS, processing one million bookings in a single day for the first time.

 1999
Amadeus becomes a public company, listed on four stock exchanges.

22. Amadeus Queue (HEQUEUE)
 The Amadeus queue helps you to manage your PNRs and messages that require your further
actions.

 Think of the queue system as if it were a filing cabinet.

 For example, you are a travel agency and waitlisted a seat that is sold out. The airline receives
your request, processes it, and then sends back a response when seats are available. This
response is filed in the appropriate filing cabinet i.e. the queue. When you work on a queue, you
merely open a drawer; take out a file folder, and process or action the responses that were
received.

 PNRs may require further action for the following reasons:

a. Confirmation of segments, services, options, or seats from waitlist.
b. Change of flight schedule.
c. Change in the ticketing arrangement.
d. Expiration of a ticketing time limit.
e. Messages from the airlines, hotel or car.
f. Messages from Amadeus Helpdesk

 This is a list of the most common queues:

Queue Purpose
number
Q1 Confirmation
Q2 KL (confirmation from waitlist for air only)
Q7 Schedule change
Q8 Ticketing
Q12 Expired Time limit
Q96 Past date Record
Q97 Message

 Queue Date Ranges :
