Introduction to the Goals of the Roadmap, Zorica Maric, ICME, Belgrade, Serbia

Session 1: Gaps in provision of services related to Phytopharma
Impulse: Mr. Angel Konakchiev, Bulgaria
Common gaps of the Phytopharma sector are, among others, the sustainable provision of high
quality plant material by cultivation, collection and import; technologies; clinical test; trainings;
visibility of the business sector, and other services such as databases. The session tries to elaborate
on current gaps and future needs for the phytopharmaceutical sector.

Moderation: Darja Osvald, Anteja d.o.o, Slovenia

Session 2: Missing Links and knowledge development

Impulse: Slobodan Petrović and Vanja Tadić, Serbia
Missing Links in the sector in the Danube region are manifold and are hindering the sector to
unfold its full potential. The sector is in need of supporting R&D infrastructure to support farmers
& cultivators, but also for high tech applications such as chromatography, genetic markers, etc.
This session also regards the linkages within business networks.

Moderation: Zorica Maric, ICME, Serbia

Session 3: Future Trends and upcoming Legislation

Impulse: Ralf Kindervater and Rainer Luick, Germany
To stay competitive in the future, there is a need of understanding the business environment and
future perspectives. The sector is highly regulated due to many EU and national regulations that
are likely to increase. Further topics are the sustainable compliance with biodiversity standards,
traceability of products and long-term relationships. New value-added processes and products for
the value chain nodes are of importance in a developed bio-economy, to diversify the local and
regional economy. Special emphasis should be taken on social responsibility.

Moderation: Ana Aleksić Mirić, Faculty of Economy, Serbia

16.15 – 16.30 Summary of Results / Break

16.30 – 17.00 Presentation of Results in plenum + Concluding discussion
