As you probably know getting a job in conservation is difficult with so many people applying for so few jobs.
This course on has been organised to help teach you how to fill in application forms better so that they hopefully get you that
all important job interview! If you have applied for a lot of jobs and not had any interviews, then there is probably something
missing in your application form.
The day will cover where you should look for jobs (CJS of course!), how to write your CV and cover letter or application form.
We will go through specific sections of the application form and compare real life good and bad examples. You will also get
the opportunity to go through real application forms and assess them as to whether you think they should be interviewed or
not so that you can see the application process from an employers perspective. We will also cover interview techniques.
There will be information to read about people who work in conservation for different organisations, a bit about their jobs and
tips and advice that they think you need to know when applying for work.
There will be plenty of opportunities to ask questions, and depending on the number of participants, there may be the chance
for someone to one sessions looking at your own application form for a job you have applied for.
The course is being run by staff at the Leicestershire and Rutland Wildlife Trust at their office at Brocks Hill Environment
Centre, Washbrook Lane, Oadby, Leicestershire, LE2 5JJ. To book a place or for more details, please contact Nathalie on
0116 272 8853 or e-mail ncossa@lrwt.org.uk The course is free, bring a packed lunch.
