Dear Mr. Santiago,

Greetings! The Sport Management Council of the Philippines (SportPhil), in partnership with the
De La Salle University Ramon V. Del Rosario College of Business (DLSU RVR-COB), are proud to
host the 14th Asian Association for Sport Management (AASM) Conference with the theme
“Discovering and Developing the Sport Industry Potential in Asia” this August 2 to 4, 2018 at
the De La Salle University, Taft Campus.

With substantial talks from leading scholars, the conference aims to bridge local and
international expertise towards the enhancement of various sport management, sport pedagogy
and physical education disciplines. The objectives of the conference include:

• To underscore the synergy between sport development and sport industry by providing
viable models in sport management, athletic programs and pedagogy.
• To provide participants with proven concepts in successful sport enterprises and
institutions, including opportunities in career and education in sport media, fitness,
events management, sport marketing, and the like.
• To provide a venue where various disciplines in sports, the academe and practitioners
from here and abroad can network and collaborate towards innovating sport education
and development in the country.

Among the confirmed invited speakers from abroad are: Dr. Pakianathan Chelladurai, founder
of the North American Society for Sport Management (NASSM) and the European Association
for Sport Management (EASM); Dr. David Stotlar, sport marketing professor and consultant for
several Olympic Games and sports brands; as well as Dr. Munehiko Harada, an authority of Sport
Tourism in Japan.
The conference will have various lecture workshops which include: Teaching Sports, Good
Practices in School Athletic Programming, Movement Therapy, Inclusive Sports for Special
Groups, Fundraising for Athletes etc. There will also be a call for research abstracts and posters
for relevant topics. The conference is expected to gather over 600 delegates from here and
abroad, which includes sport professionals, school administrators, PE teachers, sport students,
coaches etc.
