There is actually no 100% solution of HCl, 38% is the best you can get under normal storage conditions.

The molarity of 38% HCL is 12.39M. To calculate the pH you can use the equation:

pH= -log[H3O+]

thus HCL of 1M has a pH = -1……

If you are going to prepare 1L, then you must take 80.7mL, and dilute up to 1000ml.

D = density or specific gravity

%C = percent concentration ( mass % or volume %)

Mwt = Molecular weight, g/mol

Using dilution equation M1 V1 = M2 V2

Substuting the value of M gives
