FACTORS THAT INFLUENCE THE LEVEL OF WORK STRESS ON
NURSES IN CRITICAL CARE SCOPE IN ROOM OF
ICU, ICCU, PICU RSUD DOKTER SOEDARSO PONTIANAK
ABSTRACT
Background: Intensive nurses have special skills compared to wards nurses such
as the levels of work and knowledge have more complex. Nurses who have feel
work stress are caused by high workloads. Comparing of intensive nurses stress
level and general nurse resulted from 230 intensive nurses there were 54 people
(24%) intensive nurses who had post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). The
occurrence of psychological changes due to overwork, fatigue and easily give up
on the work are done so that this things that causes the stress of work on the
nurses.
Objective: To know the factors that influence the level of work stress on nurses in
critical care scope in room of ICU, ICCU, PICU RSUD Dokter Soedarso
Pontianak.
Method: The research design used was descriptive research design with cross
sectional approach. The sampling in this study uses non probality sampling by
using total sampling approach. The results of this study using categorical data so
that statistical test used in this study is Chi Square.
Results: Data analysis showed that there was an influence of workload on the
work stress of nurses with a significance value (p value = 0,000), there was an
influence of the patient's critical conditions on the work stress of nurses with a
significance value (p value = 0.032) and there wasn’t influence of interpersonal
relationships on the work stress of nurses with a significance value (p value =
0,479) (p value >0,05) in room of ICU, ICCU, PICU RSUD Dokter Soedarso
Pontianak.
Conclusion: In this study it was concluded that the workload and critical
condition of patients were factors that could influence the level of work stress on
nurses in room of ICU, ICCU, PICU RSUD Dokter Soedarso Pontianak.
