As the presence of colluvial soil along the back slope of the road is detrimental to the
proper function of the road especially when they are exposed to rainwater, the provision
of retaining wall is mandatory irrespective of the provision of flatter slope.
Moreover, sliding soil sections shall further be supported by masonry retaining wall
construction. Landslide currently observed:
Erodible section on RHS of alignment covered with reddish brown clay soil underlain by
light gray loose sandy silt soil from 49+540 (E=0428586, N=0920174) to 49+645
(E=0428613, N=0920063) shall be protected with Gabion check dams constructed on
existing gullies
In this project concept design stage, we have found colluvial soil formation along the
route, which is liable to failure irrespective of the provided slope. Accordingly, such
formations located at station of coordinate shall be supported by provision of reinforced
concrete retaining wall:
from km 69+800 (E=441131, N=914691) to km 70+060 (E=440911, N=914572)
from km 70+520 (E=441090, N=914531) to km 70+990 (E=441487, N=914763)
from km 71+810 (E=442153, N=914581) to km 73+380 (E=441639, N=913375)
