MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT

KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS:

This Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) made and entered into by and between:

The LOCAL GOVERNMENT UNIT OF MACO, existing by virtue of the laws of the Republic of
the Philippines, with principal postal office address at Municipal Hall, Binuangan, Maco, Compostela,
Valley Province represented herein by its Mayor ALVERA VERONICA R. RIMANDO, MD, FPSMS,
RMT, herein after referred to as “LGU MACO”.

The MACO CENTRAL ELEMENTARY SCHOOL, a Public Elementary School with School
Identification Number ________________ with the principal address at Binuangan, Maco, Compostela
Valley Province, represented herein by its School Principal CARMELO D. CASTILLO, and herein after
referred to as “SCHOOL”.

-WITNESSETH-

WHEREAS, the DRRM Act provides a responsive and proactive manner of addressing disasters
through a framework that prioritizes on community level DRRM focusing on the most vulnerable,
recognizes the important role and strengthens capacities of local communities, ensures broad‐ based
and greater participation from Civil Society.

WHEREAS, the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) shall be
responsible for setting direction, development, implementation, and coordination of disaster risk
reduction and management programs.

WHEREAS, IRR of RA 10121, Rule 6, Sec. 4 No. 14, the MDRRM Office shall develop,
strengthen and operationalize mechanisms for partnership or networking with the private sector, CSOs,
and other volunteer groups;

WHEREAS, the SCHOOL, is an educational institution having been in service for more than
half of the century in the Municipality of Maco;

WHEREAS, the SCHOOL, has been actively involved in disaster prevention and mitigation,
disaster preparedness and response activities in the community as part of their social responsibility;
and

WHEREAS, this partnership is vital to ensure timely, appropriate and effective disaster
response like provision of any form of assistance in goods or financial to alleviate the condition of the
affected families and the use of some of their designated school facilities as temporary evacuation
centers during disasters/calamities.

NOW, THEREFORE, the parties hereto have agreed to bind themselves to strengthen
partnership in the delivery of disaster preparedness and response program/activity in the municipality
and the SCHOOL has agreed that it shall extend provision of any form of assistance to affected
families and the use of their designated school facilities as temporary evacuation centers for affected
families before, during and after a calamity.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, the parties, through their representatives, have hereunder affixed
