Here are a few ideas on how to spread out the Lotto 6/58 jackpot of over P1 billion to
Filipinos in need.

There are around 23 to 25 million Filipino families. Having families line up for the cash
is inefficient and could lead to stampede or worse.

Consider these ideas that are more efficient than creating chaotic long lines:

* Hire a fund manager (a bank with trust services), a lawyer with expertise in corporate
law, business law and taxation, and an auditor (with high caliber skills in forensic
accounting). These specialists can help determine how much to be given away and
ensure the money gets to the intended recipients.
* Help families enrolled in the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program, which has
4,875,483 registered households nationwide. There are beneficiaries who are in college;
36,501 of them in academic year 2017-2018. Choose the graduating class from among
those still enrolled this school year.

* Help lowly paid government workers. There are 2.42 million government employees.
Some 7,250 of them are people with disabilities.

* Help depositors who lost their life savings because

their banks were shut down.

According to the Philippine Deposit Insurance Corp. (PDIC), there are 378 banks under
liquidation, of which 41 banks have an approved final asset distribution plan and 337
have no approved plan yet. PDIC data show there are about P51.97 million accounts
with deposits of P100,000 or less.
* Help some Filipinos finally have their own homes. There are 13.58 million Pag-IBIG
members. Narrow down the selection to the poorest among those with pending housing
loans.
