Tell me about yourself.

I am currently a second-year chemical engineering undergraduate achieving a high 2:1

degree in the end of the second year, 69% in fact. As a part of the second year I was
able to advance my understanding of process separation though a process engineering
project where I had a chance to understand how by manipulating let say only the duty of
a reboiler we can alter the composition of distillation and bottoms/waste stream. Based
on that understanding of the dynamics of the distillation system I was able controlling
process by using TSC simulator to mimic the operation of a three-column fractionation train
which takes a hydrocarbon input and processes the feed into an Ethane, Propane Butane and
heavies rich streams.

I feel like my biggest strength is the ability to effectively lead the team by example and
overall be a proactive an involved team player. By this I mean making sure that all of the
group members are being heard, schedule meetings as frequently as possible and
ensuring that everyone is being involved in the progress of the project.

I also had a chance to work in a research laboratory of the previous summer where I
was involved in a research of developing a cost effective hydrophobic aerogel to absorb
oils spills. As part of the findings, developed a step-by-step cellulose blending method
using Nitrogen to achieve an aerogel that possessed mechanical qualities desired.

I feel that my technical knowledge gained during my time at the university and
transferable skills gained during the placements make me a really good for the position
and I would be excited to be a member of your team.

Describe a situation where you had conflict in a group (how did you resolve it)

where do you see yourself in 10 years

What are your strengths/weaknesses?

Strength-Team Working, Time management + Responsibility-Deliver on the promise

Weakness- Attention to detail- sometimes good Heat Exchanger, sometimes bad- going
an extra mile, ‘learned how to slow myself down, ask myself if the quality of work
produced up to the right standards, and not enter the territory of diminishing returns to
deeply.

Describe a complex problem that you have faced. How did you solve it? What was the
result?

Why do you want to work for ExxonMobil?

Innovation- is something that ExxonMobil is renowned for. hey have an industry leading
personal safety and process safety record.
Thinking long term,
the installation of a £60 million cogeneration unit. This highly energy efficient
combined heat and power (CHP) unit burns fuel at an efficiency of 75 per cent, twice
the efficiency of a conventional power station. Energy efficiency improvements over
recent years have led to significant reductions in emissions - equivalent to taking
250,000 cars off British roads every year.

Describe a time where you had to work with other people and had a disagreement?
