ABSTRACT

The study entitled, “Powdered Potato Peel as Agent in Poultry Farm Odor Eliminator”

is conducted on June to September 2018 to come up with an organic odor eliminator

that can eliminate poultry farm odor utilizing potato peels.

The organic poultry odor eliminator is obtained by harvesting potatoes and removing

its peel and put it in an oven. You’ll come up with a dry potato peels and put it in a mortar

and pestle after powdering the potato peels mix it with water. Stir the mixture with a

stirring rod to assure that the solute is completed dissolved with the solvent. Transfer the

solution into a spray bottle. The product is tested and compared to commercial poultry

odor eliminator by the respondents. The characteristics tested and compared were:

odor, effectiveness, effect to poultry animals, and stability of fragrance. The data

gathered shows that the experimental product is inferior to the commercial one. Potato

peel has a great potential as an alternative poultry farm odor eliminator.

From the data gathered, the experimental product is better than the

commercial product in terms of odor because the experimental product was

made using ingredients that have pleasing aroma. In terms of effectiveness, the

better one is the experimental product because based on the survey the we’ve

conducted the respondents. And in terms of the effect to poultry animals, the

experimental product is better than the commercial one because the

commercial one has a side effects to poultry animals. And in terms of stability of

fragrance the experimental one last longer than the commercial one.
