Mr. Kowalski is knowledgeable about the content area he is teaching. Since the first visit he has worked hard to connect his instruction
to real-world examples that are meaningful to students and this has paid off in his delivery of instructional concepts. I also see that he
has grown tremendously in incorporating higher level thinking skills by adjusting his questioning of students through discussion.

Mr. Kowalski has developed lesson plans with his cooperating teacher that meet the needs of the students. Since this assignment is at a
school for the academically gifted, the academic level of instruction is high and is differentiated to meet these gifted learners. Nicholas
will have more opportunity to plan for differentiated instruction by content, process, and product in his next regular school assignment.
Mr. Kowalski has become very adept at planning transitions and allocating how much time each section of the instructional plan takes.
He has used the feedback from the university supervisor and cooperating teacher to plan effective lessons.

Nicholas has embraced the use of technology to promote student learning. During the observational periods and throughout this student
teaching experience, he has followed the initiative of the school system to use Chromebooks and Schoology as an instructional platform.
In addition, he has used multiple teaching strategies and has used the flexible learning areas (unique outside hallway spaces) of the
school to try new ways to engage students. Nicholas has developed in all of these areas listed above and has learned quickly to adjust
instruction based on feedback and student responses.

This is an area of strength for Nicholas and he has planned well in his lesson plans for this. He has incorporated a variety of formative
assessments in his lessons and summative assessments which provided Nicholas with a basis to assess the students. Using the new
student management online system he provided detailed feedback to students on their assignments and projects. The students were
then directed to use this feedback to redirect their learning toward mastery of the content. This effort was noted by the cooperating
teacher and this allowed Nicholas to guide the students to reaching their instructional goals.

Mr. Kowalski has continued to create a learning environment where the students are treated with respect. He is an active listener and
responds to students' needs in a caring manner. He maintains a well-managed classroom and is continually learning the skills to keep
the students on task.

who easily fits into a school setting and uses every opportunity to learn from others to improve his teaching. A true professional!

Nicholas has grown in the area of student academic progress. He has worked hard with the cooperating teacher to document the
progress of students through this period. He tracked the students through the instructional on-line learning platform to provide feedback
and to further guide their academic performance. He will continue to use data results to provide the evidence for future planning.
