flag to judge that vessel offered fully meet requirement/responsibility for operations.
 Negotiation, Finalization of Charter Parties and Cargo Fixtures/ Contracts seeing all post fixture matters.
 Managing operational aspect of voyage from fixing till its completion and final settlement of lay time.

AIR CARRIER LOGISTICS (DHL, FED EX, AIR-FREIGHT)

 Air freight calculations, Unit Load Device charges-ULD Charges, Chargeable/volumetric weight, Consolidation,
Air Surcharges (Different for different air carriers and Airport Transit Points).
ROAD LOGISTICS AND FLEET MANAGEMENT

 Primary/Secondary transportations Line-haul, Up country, Milk-run, Hub & Spoke, Reverse logistics.
 Contract negotiation on cost sheet and reference benchmarks, market dynamics, impact of seasonality, port
cargo inventory, trucks demand/supply ensuring the effective implantation of the contract's terms (risk
mitigation/reliability/performance) and revision of rate based on diesel price revision.
 Use of Multi-axle, high carrying capacity vehicles optimizing freight cost, optimising logistic Parcel size and
optimum Load Planning vs Vehicle Size with a reduction in integrated logistics cost i.e Rs/Mt.
 Responsible for quick turnaround with route planning, route mapping, networking, placement of vehicles,

operational controls scheduled delivery, lead time, capacity utilization.


WAREHOUSE MANAGEMENT
 Managing day to day Warehouse Operations of inbound, outbound, storage, Order Fulfilment, Stock taking &
reconciliation, etc as per the approved process and timely accounting.
 Designing warehouse layouts, equipment maintenance repair and replacement, with efficient space
management & handling equipment utilization and application SOPs.
 Manage inventory accuracy through planned cycle count, inventory reconciliation, inventory turns.
 Warehouse management System (WMS) & Statutory Audits & ISO Compliances and ISO, EMS, OHSAS.
 Stacking & preservation of materials as per laid down guidelines issue of the material on (FIFO) / FEFO.
 SAP Stock value analysis along with establishing the Min / Max level, reordering level, Fast / slow / Non-
moving stocks, Inventory turns & ageing etc.
EXIM AND DOCUMENTATION
 Pre-shipment and Post Shipment Documentation in line with Contract & Letter of Credit (where applicable)
error-free with timeliness and obtaining Bill of Lading from Shipping line, etc.
 Rules & regulations and norms, INCOTERMS, HS Code and Customs Tariff(Foreign Trade Regulation Act).
RAIL LOGISTICS

 Liaising with Commercial and Operation for Rake Booking, Rake Placement, Commercial issues like Punitive,
warfage, Demurrage clearances, Concessional Tariff Fixation, Discounts, Settlements of tariff, Penalty and

GVK POWER AND INFRASTUCTURE : ROLE : HEAD FUEL MANAGEMENT

 Securing annually 3 million MT coal budgeted Rs. 1400 Cr. for GVK Power (Goindwal Sahib in Punjab) through

Road cum Rail mode from CIL collieries (80%)states of Jharkhand and MP and balance import of Rb2,Rb3
Grades from South Africa & Indonesia at Mundra, Kandla port and beyond by port Rail
 Strategize of a diversified portfolio of three rail zones and seven multilocational rail siding with total warehousing

capacity of over 1.5 lakh sq ft and optimisation of vehicle TAT and Route Planning, Trip Maximisation, fleet
management with GPS tracking.
 Achieved 25% increase in daily coal movement from mines to rail siding and rail rake availability from railways

was increased by 40% enabled us to move 2 takes (8000 Mt) of coal on daily basis on Road cum Rail mode
with plant coal inventory getting optimised. (A 7 days plant coal stock raised upto 15 days, a jump of 100%).

• Rake availability(ECoR), controlling transport union on freight and vehicle availability to steel and power plants

and no-entry time adjustment/rescheduling, route and network planning for smooth logistics flow of trucks.

• Logistics Road Map of Raw Material and finished goods for Mission of 300MT annual steel by year 2025.

• Projects like multimodal Logistics Parks, Logistics Corridors, Setting up ICDs, Specific Study on East Coast

and East- West corridor for assessment of gaps in feeder Road and Rail Transport infrastructure.

ADANI PORT (DHAMRA PORT)- ROLE HEAD BUSINESS STRATEGY,LOGISTICS OPERATION

 Successfully brought part of spill over Coastal Coal Cargo from neighboring competing Paradeep Port from

(Southern State Power Plants: NTECL, TANGENCO, APGNCO) on basis of quick turn-around of inward coal
from mines, loading of high DWT coastal vessels on higher draft with sea freight economy.
 Surplus capacity at export berth was utilized by self geared import vessels for Rashmi metallics, Usha

Martin,JSPL and others for coal, coke, pig iron,Pellet, flux cargo gave additional volume of 2 MTPA, revenue
of Rs.120Cr. (berthing, discharging, storage & evacuation) .
 Feasibility study for a fertilizer berth(Initially for 2.5MTPA) with bagging and covered storage facilities after

assessing demand, current importation and distribution from Zuari Agro, IFFCO,Corromondol Fertilizers,Tata
Chemicals. Jai Shree Chemicals (Bangur)..
• Preparation of feasibility and Master plan for Multiple Cargo handling facility of more than 125 MMT cargo
volume with plan to develop Dhamra as Eastern maritime Gateway for India-Nepal-Bangladesh-Myanmar.

 Overall port cargo volume jumped from 14.5 MMTPA to over 18 MMTA (28% yoy)dry bulk cargo coal, lime

stone, Pellets etc for Tata, SAIL, JSPL, BSL(Coal, coke, slag), Adani Enterprises Ltd( Coal business) etc.
 Take or Pay contract, Minimum Rakes Indent & Storage Space area stipulations , Shifting charges were

applied for Tata Steel and negotiated and settled Rs.26cr.pending for storage& shifting beyond free period.

JINDAL STAINLESS LTD ROLE : GENERAL MANAGER (LOGISTICS)

 Introduced freight rail operators CONCOR & TRANS-RAIL for bulk movement of finished goods from eastern

part to western hubs like Kalomboli and Vadodara and distribution thereafter to overcame irregular truck
availability & Finished goods inventory piling up. Saving in freight 20% & saving in delivery time 40%.
 Outbound/inbound logistic(1 MMT of Outbound,2 MMT of inbound PAN India Cargo with Annual Logistics

Spend of 500 Cr & Monthly container export of 1500 Nos TEUs(Partnering DAMCO) PM through Vizag, Haldia.
 Triangulation Triangulation( Reverse Logistics) Service : All Maersk line inward containers are used for

export by service provider/freight forwarder DAMCO. i.e. Import to Export Conversion over 500 TEUs.
 Liner freight based on log term & negotiated even on spot basis based on prevailing rate for freight corridors

 A 15% dead freight saving in containerisation from Heavy duty to Normal duty TEUs by avoiding dead freight.
• Re-Negotiation of Pan India surface Transportation Contract with 3 transporters instead of 17transporters PAN

India viz DARCL, Union Roadways, ARC assigning regional logistics geographies landscape.

ESSAR SHIPPING AND PORT LOGISTICS LTD ROLE : DY. GENERAL MANAGER (LOGISTICS)

 Contributed in strategic transformation of Essar Shipping into an integrated logistics provider (Networked
assets of 25 ships, 15 mbcs , 10 ports and off-shores, 1000+ equipment owning/hiring, fleet of 2500
trailers/4 locomotives /industrial warehouses, 50 Railheads,150 PAN India and Global destinations.
 Operationalized a highly interactive information sharing system, to provide real-time visibility of cargo.
 Intra-plant logistics operations, load consolidation, saving the loss of idle freight and loss from demurrages.
 Designed end to end multi modal Road-Sea-Road logistics solution of finished goods of 2 MMTA to
Maharashtra and South India.( 30% Saving in freight Cost and 40 % Saving in Delivery time).
 A 1200-1500 no of TEUs PM were moved to JNPT Port through Dhamramtar port node resulted saving in
inland freight cost by 20% and TEUs missing liners were reduced by 40% with Savings in Buffer storage cost.
 Handling of Dry Bulk- Coal, Ore, Pellets, Finished Goods under Import, export & Coastal movements through
Mechanized/Non-Mechanized)means at minor Ports at Dighi, Dharamtar to avoid Mumbai port congestion
 Successfully delivered 18 Over dimensional project items(85 Mt–125 Mt)on hydraulic axles.

 Achieved on Time Deliveries of 97% and achieved Vehicle Placement of 95% with respect to set targets.
ESSAR PORT - MULTI USER COAL TERMINAL,20MMTA, COST 5000 CR.( BEIRA PORT,MOZAMBIQUE)

 Prepare the project documents (Port Terminal concession agreements, Port Agency Contract, EPC contract,
O&M contracts and debt financing agreements)finance modelling(IRR,NPV,DSCR) for the risk allocation.
 Prepared feasibility Report on port traffic, coal cargo projections, proposal of cargo handling facilities and
logistics model, mines to port Sena corridor capacity assessment.
 Networked with local Transporters, freight forwarders, vessel owners, vessel agents, clearing agents for
shipment from Mozambique port like. e.g Greenrod, Mocargo, LBH, Manica, Saraf Shipping.
TATA PROJECTS–HYDERABAD ROLE : SR. MANAGER (MATERIALS AND STORES)

• Empanelment of DHL, Air-Freight, Fed-Ex for air cargo under IATA-Guidelines with contract Negotiation of
Pan India surface Transportation region wise Contract with 3 transporters DARCL, Union Roadways, ARC.

• Moved about 5000 TEUs from different European Ports(Antwerp, Hamburg, Rotterdam) for SAIL-RSP’s 5th BF
through shipper Tata Corus-EU, Freight Forwarder JM Baxi and NYK line was the liners at Haldia port.
 Managed 17 multilocational stores including main stores and site stores with goods movement networked.
 End to end Logistics solutions for over 2000 KM erection of transmission line towers substation structures.

Dispatches of finished steel Coils on pan India basis(4.5 MMTA finished goods (Steel & DRI) outbound in Ispat

• IMPORT CARGO : End to End Logistics charter party and freight negotiation of & Operation about 80 Cape/

Supramx/Handimax vessels per annum from ship owners worldwide via a global/Indian broking network.
• The portfolio of fleets cape, Panamax, Supramax and Handy size vessels on both time charter and voyage

basis that moves cargos from India to Thailand, Europe, Pacific, Atlantic and Far East and coastal states.
• Reverse auction mechanism ,prequalification of transporters, transparent freight reduction upto 10%achieved.

• Daily about 400 numbers of trailors were planned, placed, loaded, documentation, weighment and exit

review was done a 4 hrs of logistics operation(TAT) was reduced to 1 hr.(75% reduction). scale up truck
utilisation time and offered 5 %to 10% freight reduction on PAN India route basis on re-negotiation.
