Chapter 1 Introduction
This Quick Start Guide (QSG) provides instructions on how to configure a GOT2000 HMI to use the new GT25-
WLAN Wireless LAN (WLAN) Module and Wireless Function. The objective of this QSG is to assist the users to
quickly setup the GOT2000 program and Wireless Access Point (WAP), if needed, to use this Function. This
QSG contains the necessary configuration information for the GOT2000 and WAP.
As of December 2015 (GTD3 V1.145B), the GT25-WLAN can be directly setup as an Access Point. No
external Access Point needed.

Chapter 2 System Overview
This QSG was setup using the following test system. The GOT Programming software is GT-Designer3 (GTD3)
V1.145B or Greater. An external Access Point MUST be used to access the GT25-WLAN Module for V1.0. A
Mitsubishi NZ2WL-US Wireless Access Point is used (any Wireless Access Point can be used). The GT25-
WLAN Module acts as a STATION for V1.0. The GT25-WLAN Module acts as an Access Point for V2.0.
Access Point Configuration requires BootOS Version C or later. Up to 5 Stations can be connected to
the Access Point at one time.

GT27 and GT25 Series Terminals can be used.

R72-14Y-SLSASG-005-A
The purpose of this system is to allow the GOT/PLC programming software, Mobile Web and or the VNC Server
functionality access to the GOT and PLC directly thru the Access Point (AP) and WLAN Module or WLAN
Module directly as an Access Point. The GOT and PLC do not have to be physically connected to the same
Ethernet network as the Personal Computer with the programming software and or the VNC Client Application.

The PLC program can only be accessed thru the AP and WLAN, using FA Transparent Mode in the GOT, ONLY
if the GOT and PLC are directly connected (Serial or Bus). FA Transparent Mode does NOT work if two
Ethernet Networks (WLAN and hardwired) are configured in the GOT.

Version 1.0 System IP Addresses:

• iQ PLC CPU: 192.168.3.39 (Default)

• GOT Wired: 192.168.3.18 (Default)
• Personal Computers with Access to PLC and GOT Directly: 192.168.3.xxx
• GOT Wireless LAN: 192.168.4.20 – If using GOT to PLC Ethernet Communication this IP address
must be on a different Subnet from the GT27 Wired Connection.
• NZ2WL-US Wireless Access Point: 192.168.4.2
• Personal Computers with Access to WLAN: 192.168.4.xxx

• GOT Wired: 192.168.3.18 (Default)
• Personal Computers with Access to PLC and GOT Directly: 192.168.3.xxx
• GOT Wireless LAN Access Point: 192.168.4.20 – If using GOT to PLC Ethernet Communication this
IP address must be on a different Subnet from the GT27 Wired Connection.
• Personal Computers with Access to WLAN: 192.168.4.xxx

Check “Update the wireless LAN Setting” Box
• Select Station
• Enter Network Name: “GOT2000” – Select Any Name you want. Up to 8 different Access
Points can be setup in the GOT.
• Enter SSID: “ACEAP” - This name must match the ESSID name Setup in the Wireless Access
Point. See Section 4.3.2.
• Security Authentication: “WEP64”. - This must match the security type Setup in the Wireless
Access Point. See Section 4.3.3.
• WEP Key/Passphrase - Select “Hexadecimal”: “0123456789”, - This must match the security
Passphrase Setup in the Wireless Access Point. See Section 4.3.3.

Chapter 4 Wireless Access Point Setup
4.1 NZ2WL-US Establishing Communications

The configuration of the module is done by connecting to the module using Internet Explorer directed to
the default IP address of the NZ2WL-US Wireless LAN Adaptor. The default IP address of the NZ2WL
will vary from unit to unit but can be found on the side sticker, along with hardware MAC addresses of
the Ethernet port and wireless connection. As there is no login by default, click “Login” to access the
Access Point Manager.

4-1

R72-14Y-SLSASG-005-A
4.2 NZ2WL-US AP Basic Settings

There are only recommended settings to change from default, is the IP Address and the Language. The
IP address will be that of the NZ2WL-US Wireless LAN Adaptor which should on the same subnet as
the PLC and HMI. The Host Name though a unique identifier, is not what will be the network named so it
can be considered an optional setting. The recommendation is to use the default 192.168.3.***, where
*** is a unique number on the network. The Language should be set appropriately. The Submit button
can be pressed to check settings. If there is a problem, there will be a notification. If there is no problem
the Save/Reboot button will reset the adaptor so that the settings take effect. The DHCP client should
be avoided as it will look for a SHCP server to assign it an IP address. If one is not found, your adaptor
will not have an IP address and you will no longer be able to find it until it is initialized back to factory
defaults.

4.3 NZ2WL-US AP Wireless LAN Settings

4.3.1. AP Basic (Wireless LAN settings)

The basic Wireless LAN settings are few. The LAN Standard settings are the wireless speeds that
stations and laptops will connect at. Ensure all wireless devices meet same LAN Specifications.
Wireless Link Mode set to Advanced Infrastructure will permit other devices (non- NZ2WL adaptors)
such as Laptops to connect to this Access point. The Save/Reboot button will reset the adaptor so that
the settings take effect.

4-3

4.3.2. AP Detail (Wireless LAN settings)

The ESSID is the Network Name that is broadcast that wireless devices will connect to. Any station
(Like the GOT) or computer will use this name when connecting to the wireless network of the Access
Point. No other settings would be required in a basic configuration. Click on the Decision button to
ensure compatible settings. The Save/Reboot button will reset the adaptor so that the settings take
effect.

4.3.3. AP Security (Wireless LAN settings)

The Access Point will be accessible to any connections unless a password is applied to the wireless
network. This wireless password is not applied to physical wired connection to the module, though a
password can be applied under the Basic Setting screen. However, wireless connection passwords are
strongly recommended with a sample configuration above. The Save/Reboot button will reset the
adaptor so that the settings take effect.
