Drug management is a system that involving aspects of planning, demand, acceptance, storage,
distribution, withdrawal and destruction, controlling, recording and reporting. The availability of
medicines is one of the most vital elements for the role of health services as stated in the national
regulation of pharmaceutical services standards in Public Health Centre.

The purpose of this study was to analyze the management of drugs at the Tompaso Public Health Centre
in Minahasa District. The type of research used is qualitative research design. Information collected
through 4 informants who involved in drug management process at Tompaso Public Health Centre using
triangulation method. The research instrument consists of in-depth interview guidelines and voice
recorder.

The study results showed that the management of drugs in Tompaso Public Health Center Minahasa
District has been implemented properly. Although there are still things that must be updated in order to
improve the quality of existing services, also the placement of human resources is still not in accordance
to the educational background.

Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the drug management in the Tompaso Public
Health Center still need to be adjust with the national regulation about pharmacy standard and health
services at Public Health Centre in Indonesia. Researcher recommends to Tompaso Public Health Centre
to maintain the drug management that has been good at this time and to keep continue the process to
evaluate for what is still lacking.
