Answer the following questions. Each question carries 5 mark. There

is an internal choice.
3 X 5 = 15 M
1.
A) A point P, moving in a 2-D Plane in such a way that the sum of its distances
from 2 diferent fed points F1 and F2 is always constant and is equal to 100
mm. Given the value of F1F2=70 mm. Draw the curve and Draw a tangent and
a normal to the curve at a point 25 mm from the line F 1F2.
or
B) Given the value of major afis of an ellipse 120 mm and minor afis is 90 mm.
Draw the ellipse using any method and draw a tangent and a normal at a point
45 mm from the major afis.
2.
A) The vertef of a hyperbola is 28 mm from the directrif. Locate the focus of the
hyperbola given the value of eccentricity is 5/4. Draw the curve using
Eccentricity method and draw a tangent to the curve at a point 50 mm from
the directrif.
or
B) Draw a parabola using ‘eccentric method’ whose vertef is at a distance of 30
mm from the focus. Draw a pair of tangents from a point P, outside the curve,
20 mm from the vertef and 40 mm from the focus.
3.
A) Show by means of drawing that the Hypocycloid is a straight line when the
diameter of Generating circle is half of the diameter of the Directing circle.
Take the diameter of the rolling circle as 50 mm.
or
B) Draw an involute curve for a circle of diameter 50 mm and draw a tangent and
a normal at a point 100 mm from the center of the circle.
