The Department of Science and Technology - Science and Technology Information Institute (DOST-STII) in
partnership with the United Nations – World Food Programme (UN-WFP) expanded their reach in Region VI for
the STARBOOKS project. A total of eight (8) beneficiaries from Iloilo Province were identified by the UN-WFP.
These sites are also beneficiaries of UN in their other projects. The UN-WFP will provide a complete set of desktop
computers for donation and it will be equipped with the latest version of STARBOOKS.

In this connection, we would like to request your office to coordinate with the schools and the Local Government
Units (LGUs) for the processing of the requirements prior to installation. The Knowledge Management Unit (KMU)
and the Management Information System (MIS) Unit of the Regional Office can assist in the deployment,
installation, and orientation of STARBOOKS for the above-mentioned sites.
