UNITED NATIONS MONTH CELEBRATION 2017

I. RATIONALE

The United Nations (UN) is an intergovernmental organization established on 24 October


1945, which aims to promote international co-operation. In order to develop the students’ deep
understanding of its importance, MPPVMHS initiated this pageant for Ms. United Nations 2017.

II. GOALS/ OBJECTIVE

The following were targets and goals employed during the United Nations Month:

 To make the students understand the importance of United Nations organization,


through representation of United Nation member countries in the pageant;
 To help the students appreciate the cultural diversity of each nation;
 To Help the students develop self-confidence;
 To instil the value of camaraderie and friendship among classmates, and the
school community.
 To test the confidence of every contestant and their capability to speak under
pressure.

III. Methodology
An opening program is set on October 4, 2017 at 1pm in the afternoon and scheduled to
have a culmination on November 16, 2017.
Here are the scheduled activities for the month-long celebration:
October 4, 2017 – Opening Program
October 13, 2017 – Clean-up Drive
- Poster Making Contest
November 16, 2017 – Culmination Program

V. CONCLUSION

The entire celebration was indeed a success, however in every successful stories lies a
chapter of trials. Significantly time of preparation was a challenged to every participant and the
advisers. Next in line is the scarcity of some. But with the teachers’ and the students’
resourcefulness each was well conducted.

VI. SUGGESTIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS

There is always a next time. We always foresee that next time must be a better one.

Some points for improvement are laid below to yield a better output in the next activity:

 Ample time should be allotted in the planning of activities;


 More meaningful activities may be prepared in order to deep a deeper understanding of
the celebration;
 Proper planning on the financial aspect should be looked into by next year for the
expenses of the activities.
