Short briefing about the Ministry of Education Smart Preschool

Carnival, Kerian District Level 2018.

SALUTATION AND INTRODUCTION

On behalf of all the committee members we welcome the distinguish guests,

ladies and gentlemen to the English Story Telling Competition in
accordance with the Ministry of Education Smart Preschool Carnival,
Kerian District Level 2018 in Dewan Gemilang Sk Methodist, Parit
Buntar.

Assalamualaikum and a very good afternoon to all. On this fine afternoon,

we welcome all the guest and participants to English Story Telling
Competition that will be started shortly.

Ladies and gentleman,

Your Master of ceremony for today is Mr. Mohammad Bin Naim,
Our time keeper for today is Ustaz Mohd Zulhaimi Bin Ishak,

Before we proceed with our competition, let me introduce our judges for

STATING THE RULES

Let me go through the rules of the competition

!. The competition is open to all Ministry of Education preschooler aged 5
to 6 years.
2. Only one participant allowed to take part from each school.
3.The source of the story must be pick form these medium;
a. any storybooks that are sold in the market
b. stories from magazines and from any other mass media.
c. Stories from electronic or internet

d. original work or writing
4. The story must contain good value teaching elements and universal moral
values that does not involve politics, race and religion.
5. The elements of poetry, singing and mimicry are allowed to support the
story telling as long as it does not overshadow the story telling.
6. Participants will be disqualified if;
a. Mention politics, race and religion.
b. Reading the text continuously
c. helped by other people.
7. Every participant will be given 5 to 8 minutes for the storytelling. 10
marks would be deducted if the length of the story telling is under 5 minutes.
8. The bell will be ring twice on the 8th minute showing that the time has
ended.
9. Props, music and sound effect during the storytelling is not allowed.
10. Participants are allowed to wear costume.
11. If there is a tie, these criteria must be taken in consideration to
determine the winner;
a. Performance techniques
b. Appreciation of Story
c. language and speech
12. Judges decision is final and marks would not be revealed.
13. Here are the judges criteria for this competition;
a. Performance techniques
b. Mastering of the language
c. Appreciation of Story
d. Moral values
e. Voice control
f. Costume
